COMPLETING THE CONTENT AUDIT SPREADSHEET
Updated 5/1/14
Headings in RED text are required items.
BLUE is Level 2 navigation.
TAN is Level 3 navigation.
WHITE is Level 4 navigation.
Please see the ‘Page Options’ sheets for examples of various options for your web pages.
Page Title: Shows on the browser tab and helps Search Engines like Google to find your page. Every page must have a unique Page Title.
Start with the page name, which in the example below for line 3 is ‘Degrees’, then a dash followed by the department name which is ‘Culinary Arts’, then
a dash followed by ‘Career Technical Education (CTE)’, then a dash followed by ‘Grossmont College’.
Put it all together and it looks like this:
Degrees – Culinary Arts – Career Technical Education (CTE) – Grossmont College.
This way search engines can find your page using any combination of the words in this title and the browser tab will show the title of the current page.
System Name: Shows in Cascade so you can locate the page, shows in the navigation on the left side of the page and in the breadcrumbs. You may want this to
be a shorter name than the Page Title. The main page for each folder is designated as ‘default’.
This is what your Left Navigation
would look like:
Culinary Arts
Workplace
Degrees
Employment
Fine Dining
San Diego Chefs
Nav or External Link (n/e): You may want a link in your Left Navigation that connects to a document or web page not included in the Parent folder. If so, indicate
what type of link it is:
• a Nav (navigation link within the Cuyamaca/Grossmont web site)
• an External (link outside of our websites such as to an organization or government office)
Parent Folder: This is the URL path for your new web site.
• Use the path already displayed in your spreadsheet unless you have additional subsites to add.
• You can add subsite paths to it (eg: programs-depts/programs/cte/ca).
• Whatever you want to display in the Left Navigation will be in the same folder.
• If this is a link only, the parent folder will indicate where link will display.
Current URL: This is the URL on the current web site. If this is a link only, the Current URL is the link to the web site.
Since these pages are all in the
same Parent Folder (programsdepts/programs/cte/ca), this is
what the Left Navigation would look
like:
Culinary Arts
Workplace
Degrees
Employment
Fine Dining
San Diego Chefs

• Almost all pages will be using the ‘Standard’ template.
• The main page for Faculty will use the ‘Faculty Intro’ template.

Please see the ‘Page Options’ sheets for examples of various options for your web pages.

confused or uncertain about what to put here, leave it blank.
