March Meeting Minutes Deferred until June Meeting
President’s Report













Expanded upon growth of Club under his tenure; recommended future of Club be about
the Kids - 'Keep it Simple' 'Players must be the Focus'
Club Performance: 187 matches over Spring 2015 (share total matches report)
Adult Behavior - Model the right behavior - at all times
Coaches to share chain of communication - GCF indicated parents from our Club
contacted them directly - puts Club in bad stead. Chain of Communication needs to be
parent to coach to President to GCF.
Referee Class: August schedule (info. forthcoming) encourage coaches to promote to
players and parents.
Playtime: kids need to play - we need to avoid placing players on wrong team and
coaches need to play all players on league game days. League play players play;
tournaments we go to win.
GCF Competition - trying to make GCF more attractive, increase ref. quality, review
min. club requirements,
Fields : progressing well. Southwinds ready for sod. Coraci may not be ready until mid
Fall but there will be lights.
FYSA: Now requires USSF only for State Cup etc. = no equivalency
DOCs & DOPDs - objective for Spring was to blend in and get a feel for players and
teams. They will become more active in Fall - they are there to help players to succeed.
Volusia County Affiliation - Stetson & Deltona (lose affiliation) - considering
cooperative agreement between Clubs to increase cooperation opportunities
Tryouts: Parents are our advocate - advertising has occurred at schools, hometown news
etc - numbers are good and have seen trend in new players

Treasurer’s Report

Club ended with large outstanding unpaid balances for Spring 2015 - objective for no
player to be turned away due to money. New system should help with outstanding
balances.
DOC Report


Coaches to follow through on rostering players - coaches responsibility to know which
division is player is from and ensure moves are compliant. Suggestion for Dual Rostering
to be done through DOPDs.
GCF Roster Fraud: serious fines for Club for non compliance. Coaches responsibility that
their roster is correct and compliant.






All coaches for GCF should have 2 copies of roster for games. All teams are entitled to
roster from other team.
Coaches are expelled not 'red carded' : serious consequences for GCF. All coaches to
report to EBOD member if they are expelled. On GCF website: Check Report for red
cards - verify if you are concerned.
Coaches to gauge return rate for current players and encourage players to register for
tryouts
Coaching assignment to occur after play outs
Free Clinic was very well received - kudos to all involved
Update Coach Profiles-email was sent to coaches to access thier account.
Club Structure






All monies to be collected by Club starting as of Fall 2015 – coaching and club fees
($760 per year)
Club will pay coaches – payment will be by team, training seasons may change, will be
IRS compliant – coaches advised to record expenses incurred as coach for deductions
(mileage, equipment, kit, training). Coaching will be a minimum of 9 months
Demo provided of new registration process – registration will require payment, payment
options available from lump sum to monthly direct debit
Financial Aid – Club reviewing new financial aid process that will be needs based using
government standard of poverty line; financial aid applications have to be submitted prior
to tryouts
Plan to seek fundraising and sponsorships for Club to help increase financial aid
program; plan to establish ‘Booster’ Club at Town Hall Meeting e.g Golf / Soccer Golf
Tournament
Seek business partners/supporters in the City who are willing to sign petition to supports’
request for land (requested by city)




President and Treasurer Positions will be open in July meeting - has to be Club member
(parent or coach)
Debate over bylaws and term limits of EBOD - motion to push back Elections by 60 days
Suggested: Meeting in June to review bylaws and term limits (June 18)
Elite Fitness



Located in S. Daytona - have large facility with diverse training equipment
Hosting summer program - welcome all players for individual or team training
Suggestion: POSC Day at Elite Fitness
