There are soccer teams, swim clubs, baseball teams, scouting activities and, of course, homework. However, learning to play an instrument can add an element of fun that no other sporting event or activity can offer. Have you ever considered playing a string instrument? Joining school orchestra is a great way to make new friends, express your creativity, and have fun. You can learn to play the violin, viola, cello, or bass while you are at school. Some schools are even adding harps and guitars to their musical ensembles. You can also take private lessons from one of the teachers in your area and compete in district, state and even national competitions and festivals. You may even like it enough to become a music teacher or play in a symphony. The viola makes a deeper sound than the violin and is a bigger instrument. Not only is he an awesome bass player, but he is also captain of his soccer team. He shows everyone his big case with wheels to take his bass from here to there.
