Deposits and Payments

All non-University of Richmond events require a deposit. Three (3) business days prior to the event, one half (50%) of the estimated bill is due upon acceptance of the event agreement. Payment must be in the form of cash, company check, certified check or credit card.
If the client's organization maintains a tax-exempt status, the client must provide Richmond on Broad Café with a valid tax exemption certificate issued by the Commonwealth of
Virginia. Your certificate must state you have hospitality tax exemption to be relieved of state taxes. This must be provided to Richmond on Broad Café by the day of the event.
State law prevents Richmond on Broad Café and the University of Richmond from honoring any organizational tax exemption without securing payment directly from the organization in the form of a company check.
The deposit will be applied to the final invoice at the conclusion of the event.
Payment is due thirty (30) days from the original invoice date. After forty-five (45) days, the invoice amount will be subject to monthly late charges of up to five (5) percent of the
amount due, limited by Virginia state law.
Guarantees and Collections

Events canceled within one (1) business day of the event date will be charged 50% of the value of the event. Cancellations made up to two (2) business days prior to the event date
will receive a refund of 100% of the deposit.
Richmond on Broad Café reserves the right to cancel the event due to emergency situations and/or severe inclement
weather.
Room Arrangements

Richmond on Broad Café or the University of Richmond is not responsible for damage to or loss of any items left in the UR Downtown facility prior to or following any events.
All University of Richmond facilities including Richmond on Broad Cafe are non-smoking.
Liability

The client is responsible and will reimburse Richmond on Broad Café or the University of Richmond for any damages, loss or liability incurred by any of the client's guests or any
persons or organizations contracted by the client to provide any service or goods before, during and after the event.
Richmond on Broad Café or the University of Richmond will not be liable for nonperformance of this agreement when such nonperformance is attributable to labor troubles, disputes or strikes, accidents, government regulations of or restrictions upon travel or transportation, non-availability of food, beverages or supplies, riots, national emergencies, acts
of God and other causes whether enumerated herein or not, which are beyond the reasonable control of the Richmond on Broad Café or the University of Richmond, preventing
or interfering with the Richmond on Broad Café ‘s performance.
Taxes & Administrative Fees

All federal, state (5.3%) and municipal (6%) taxes which may be imposed or be applicable to this agreement and to the services rendered by Richmond on Broad Cafe are in addition to the prices herein agreed upon, and the client agrees to pay them separately.
