Schulz | Produced by Garden Theatre The classic animated television special comes to life in this faithful stage adaptation. Charlie Brown is overwhelmed by the materialism he sees during the holiday season and wishes to find the true meaning of Christmas. After enthusiastically accepting the role of director for the school Christmas pageant, he soon becomes frustrated by his uncooperative actors and their portrayal of the story. After Charlie Brown selects a pitiful tree for the centerpiece of the play and flees the resulting criticism, all of the Peanuts gang come to realize what is important…now that Christmas-time is here. The holidays are special, but festivities don't have to negatively impact our environment. Here are some measures to lessen our impact. • • • • • • • • • • • T urn off or unplug holiday lights during the day to save energy and help your lights last longer. Bring reusable cloth bags for holiday gift shopping. Avoid using a bag for small or oversized purchases. Use LED and/or solar-powered string lights to reduce electricity costs. Foil pans and pie trays are recyclable, but regular aluminum foil sheets are not. Avoid using disposable dinnerware and silverware. Donate the older toys that you no longer use to charities. Donate unwanted decorations. Buy cards made from recycled paper (look for "post-consumer" content). Choose cards printed on white stock without metallic or plastic coatings. Review the list of recyclables that the City accepts. Buy locally grown trees, wreaths, and garland to save energy associated with transportation.
