CHILDREN’S CASTING CALL
NON-UNION
The Resident Ensemble Players, a professional theater company located on the University
of Delaware campus, is seeking submissions from interested child actors for two
productions in our upcoming season.
(Please note – under our URTA agreement with the actor’s union, we can only cast children 13
years of age or younger.)
PRODUCTION: WAIT UNTIL DARK by Frederick Knott, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher
ROLE: Gloria – could be any age from 11 to 14 (this is age she could appear or read, the child actor still needs
to be 13 or under)
Any ethnicity, good language skills needed
Character is spunky, precocious, and has several important and key scenes
Dates of production:
Rehearsals begin December 8, 2015
Opens Jan 22, 2016
Closes Feb 6, 1016
(There will be a substantial holiday break)
PRODUCTION: TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD from the novel by Harper Lee
ROLES:
Scout – female Caucasian child 13 or under to read no older than 9 or 10
Jem - Male Caucasian child 13 or under that reads 12 to 14
Dill – male Caucasian child 13 or under to read 10 years old
These three are major roles that require good speaking skills, ability to learn Mississippi dialect and good
movement on stage.
Dates of production:
First rehearsal – Jan 27, 2016
Opens – March 4, 2016
Close March 20, 2016
More than anything, we seek young people who truly want to play these roles, and can be directed.
We will be holding auditions BY APPOINTMENT in September after school has started.
