Paper Bag Book Report
Directions:
On the front of the lunch bag, draw a scene from Hatchet. Do not use one
that’s already provided on the front of the book. Draw the setting and/or
characters from Hatchet as part of your design. Use a variety of materials and
textures as part of your design. Think 3-D, beyond crayons and markers;
be creative! Also include the title of the book, the author’s name and your
name.

On the Right side of the lunch bag, please choose 3 example
of conflict
n
that we discussed during our novel study (Man vs. Man, Man vs. Self, Man vs.
Nature, and Man vs. Society). Write an example from Hatchet of each conflict in
1 or 2 sentences. Then, illustrate your example.
Inside the lunch bag, place 5 or 6 objects that represent significant events in
the book or objects that represent aspects of the main character’s personality
(character traits). Choose these items carefully so that you have one or two for
each section (beginning, middle, and end) of your book. Only one item can be a
picture drawn by you, the rest must be actual items. You can cut out pictures, or
find pictures on the internet to place in your lunch bag, or bring small toys or
items from home. You may also construct items out of clay or play dough to place
in your bag.
