TRAVEL INFORMATION
1. TRANSPORT

Rijeka as a city doesn't have an airport which is located in the city (like Milan, Roma, Paris,
Amsterdam etc.). The nearest airport is located in island of Krk (often called Airport of Rijeka
- shuttle bus drives you to Rijeka) and this is a small one - mostly for low budget airlines.
There are also small airport in Pula (distance 103 km from Rijeka) (http://www.airportpula.hr/default.aspx?id=65).
Besides that, Zagreb has the biggest airport (there is a possibility to catch a shuttle bus from
airport to Rijeka - distance 185 km, http://www.zagreb-airport.hr/). Zagreb is 2:30 hours
from Rijeka by bus. If you are heading from Zagreb airport to Rijeka bus station, there are
shuttle buses which drive you directly to Rijeka bus station. Those buses are not so
expensive and they are much suitable than using train. Regarding shuttle schedule, prices

From Rijeka bus station to hotel Continental, Neboder it takes approx. 10 minutes by walk
and for hotel Bonavia it takes 5 minutes by walk (see Accomodation section for more
details). Train transportation is slower, cheaper and sometimes they could be
unpredictable. Zagreb Central Station of Zagreb is not located close to Zagreb Airport, so if
you use a taxi be prepared. We suppose that there are alternative ways of transport like
public transport (bus, tram). If you are not in a hurry, this could be good solution.
Another possibility is airport of Ljubljana, Slovenia, 124 km from Rijeka (web page http://www.lju-airport.si/en/Main) but you might need to catch bus or train to Rijeka.
There are relatively small airports which are dislocated like Airport of Zadar http://www.zadar-airport.hr/en
and
Airport

Split
http://www.splitairport.hr/index.php?lang=en. These are for the ones who have a lot of time on their
disposal. From Trieste Airport to Rijeka we are not sure for direct line but from city of Trieste
to Rijeka (Fiume in italian) there is bus transport. We’ve found this page maybe this could

2. ACCOMODATION
There is cheap accommodation in hostels, rent-a-room services which are located in the city
centre.

- 5-7 minutes by walk to Faculty)

walk but with beatiful seaview, calm place)
