Items with average price increase:
Wheat average price per kg was negligibly increased by 0.2%,
increase occurred only in:
Kandahar (4.1%)
Main reason for increase in price was depreciation of Afghan
currency against US dollar. While there was a decrease only in:
Hirat (3.4%)
The main reason for price decrease was increased supply to the
market from source points.
The variation on other main cities was zero
Wheat flour (High Price) average price per kg was increased by
2.3%, increase occurred in:
Maimana (9.7%), Faizabad (6.3%), Kandahar (5.3%) and
Mazar (3.6%), Main reason for increase in price was
depreciation of Afghan currency against US dollar.
While decrease occurred in:
Hirat (4%) and Jalalabad (1.9%)
The main reason was increase supply to the market form the source
points.
The variation on other main cities was zero.
Wheat flour (Low Price) average price was increased by 1.6%,
increase occurred in:
Maimana (10.3%), Kandahar (4.8%) and Faizabad (2.9%)
Main reason for increase in price in all three mentioned cities was
depreciation of Afghan currency against US dollar and increase in
high price wheat flour prices, while decrease occurred in:
Hirat (4.6%)
Jalalabad (2.2%)

by 0.2%, increase only occurred only in:

Rice (Low Quality) average price per kg was negligibly increased
by 0.5%, increase only occurred in:

Main reason was temporary supply shortage, increase in high quality
rice price and depreciation of Afghan currency against US dollar and

Cooking Oil average price per liter was negligibly increased by
0.4%, increase occurred only in:

the market, which increase the price last week.

Diesel average price was negligibly decreased by 0.6%, the decrease
occurred in:
Hirat (2.4%)
Faizabad (2.1%)
The main reason for the decrease was improved supply after
temporary supply shortage for Hirat and increased supply for
Faizabad.

Items with no price changes:
Bread, One year alive female sheep, Skilled and Unskilled labor
wages, Number of days work available per week and One year
alive female sheep/Wheat ToT, remained unchanged in the 4th
week of August comparted to the 3rd week of August 2015.
Term of Trade (ToT) Situation:
One year alive female sheep/Wheat ToT average remained
unchanged, but there was deterioration occurred only in:
Kandahar (3.9%)
The main reason was increase in wheat price.
This ToT improved in:
Hirat (3.6%)
The main reason was decrease in wheat price.
The variation in all other main cities was zero.
Casual Labor/Wheat ToT average improved by 0.1%,
improvement only occurred in:
Hirat (3.6%)
The main reason for improvement was decrease in wheat price, while
it deteriorated only in:
Kandahar (3.9%)
The main reason was increase in wheat price.
The variation in other main cities was zero.
Currency exchange rate: The average US dollar value against AFN
increased by 1.6% which means (The value of Afghan currency against
US dollar decreased from US$ 1=AFN 63.3 (3rd week of August 2015) to
US$ 1=AFN 64.3 in the 4th week of August 2015).
