Proposed Amendments to ANOC Constitution Proposed Amendments to the Constitution of the Association of National Olympic Committees Lausanne, July 5, 2014 The following amendments to the ANOC Constitution are proposed for adoption at the ANOC XIX General Assembly to take place in Bangkok on November 7 and 8 2014. 1. Casual Vacancy definition to be added to the list of Definitions and Interpretation New proposed wording of definition to be added (in proper alphabetic sequence): “Casual Vacancy” means a vacancy as described in Rule 13.9. 2. Rule 1.1 – To include the name of the Association in all three official languages Current Rule 1.1: 1.1 . Name: The name of the Association is the Association of National Olympic Committees. New proposed wording of Rule 1.1: 1.1 . Name: The name of the Association in the three official languages of the Association is: Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Association des Comités Nationaux Olympiques (ACNO) Asociación de Comités Olímpicos Nacionales (ACNO) 3. Rule 13.1b – To correct rule number reference Current Rule 13.1b: b. Five (5) Vice Presidents, who are each elected for this position by the General Assembly of their Continental Associations, one of whom shall be elected in accordance with Rule 13.7 to be the Senior Vice President; New proposed wording for Rule 13.1b: b. Five (5) Vice Presidents, who are each elected for this position by the General Assembly of their Continental Associations, one of whom shall be elected in accordance with Rule 13.8 to be the Senior Vice President; Page |1-2 Proposed Amendments to ANOC Constitution 4. Rule 13.1h – New Rule The current wording of Rule 13.1h would remain the same but will become Rule 13.1i and the succeeding rule numbers will be adjusted according. A new Rule 13.1h will be added. New proposed wording for Rule 13.1h: 13.1h 5 members, one from each Continent, who shall each be female and who shall be appointed by the ANOC President in consultation with the ANOC Vice-President of the Continent. 5. Rule 13.2 – Genders Current Rule 13.2: 13.2 Both Genders to be Represented: Each Continental Association must have both genders represented amongst the individuals elected to positions on the Executive Council by each Continental Association under Rule 13.1b – g. New proposed wording for Rule 13.2: 13.2 Both Genders: Not withstanding Rule 13.1h, each Continental Association may have both genders represented amongst the individuals elected to positions on the Executive Council by each Continental Association under 13.1b-g. 6. Rule 13.14 – Presidential Appointee Vacancies This is the addition of a new Rule dealing with a matter that is not currently dealt with in the Constitution. The current Rule 13.14 would remain the same but will become Rule 13.15 and the succeeding Rule numbers will be adjusted according. The new rule 13.14 that will be added is set out below: New proposed wording for Rule 13.14: 13.14 Presidential Appointee Vacancies: If a casual vacancy arises in a position on the Executive Council that is an appointed position of the President, the vacancy shall be filled in the same manner as is provided in Rule 13.1h or Rule 13.1i, whichever is applicable. The person appointed to fill the vacancy shall serve for the balance of the term of the vacated position. 7. Change of any necessary Rule numbers or Rule number references All necessary changes to Rule numbers and references to Rule numbers arising from the above amendments shall be made. Page |2-2
