Students will have to write the equation from a word problem, solve using the correct algebraic steps, check their answers, and graph their answers on a number line. We will determine whether they are metamorphic, sedimentary, or igneous based on how they were formed. In social studies we will study Central Asia. We will look at the historical background of various societies and compare relationships between past conflicts and current conditions. Language Arts & Reading We are learning about persuasive texts. Our goal is to understand language and techniques used when writers are trying to persuade the reader of something. Our poem this six weeks is a challenging one! Students are memorizing, “Casey at the Bat.” Please work with your students on this poem at home. They should be prepared to recite the poem on February 14th.
