Situated on the east coast of Australia, Cairns is a popular tourist destination because of its tropical climate and access to the

Temperature: Cairns experiences a tropical monsoon climate with very wet seasons between November and May and a
relatively dry season from June to October. Temperatures in April may occasionally exceed 28°C on sunny days and can drop to
around 20°C at night. As April belongs to the monsoonal months, rainy days can be expected. Average seawater temperature is
plus/minus 26°C.
Currency: Australian Dollar (AU$). For current exchange rates please see ►x-rates. Credit cards are widely accepted.
Public transportation: Cairns’ public transport service operates throughout the city and is called Sunbus. Sunbus’ website

Electricity: 230 volts.
Plug type: Three pin sockets.
Please bring your own adaptors, if necessary!
