In the past few years we have dropped far too many masts. We have been lucky and no one has been hurt-----yet. Please take note of the rules that we should all follow. 1. At least 4 people on your mast crew 2. One of those crew members whole job should be to merely watch for problems. 3. STAY OUT FROM UNDER THE MAST! 4. Make sure that the mast is butt heavy so that it does not flip. 5. If you use a bowline in your tag lines, follow it with 2 half hitches for safety. 6. Use the lifting strap as your primary lifting point. (On order now) 7. And lastly, STAY OUT FROM UNDER THE MAST! It could really ruin your day Come on everyone! GYC is going Bridge Time 1:00 p.m. (Further instructions In Social Report On Attached Minutes) UP THE RIVER!To Party Saturday, September 21st Rain date Sunday 22nd 2 Genesee Yacht Club Newsletter—October 2013 GYC 2013 HAUL/STORAGE REQUEST RETURN TO LARRY SILL OR LEAVE IN THE PAYMENT DRAWER BY September 25, 2013 Name:_____________________________________ Phone#: Day: ________________Home:____________Cell:________________ E-mail:________________________________ Boat Name:_______________________LOA_____Beam______Draft______ I have read and will comply with the GYC materials handling guide__ Physical Limitations:_________________________________________ Haul Dates: Oct. 26 Oct. 27 Nov. 2 Preferred Date:_____________1st Alternate Date:__________________ Will you be storing on Club property?
