Foundation Skills Worksheet
You will have the next 15 minutes to complete the
worksheet.
Please do not hesitate to discuss solutions with your
tablemates or ask for my assistance.
I am going to call your name using the sticks and you will
tell me your solution. If you are unsure, we will help you
solve the problem on the whiteboard. 0 Period – I will collect and hand these back in the next
class period. *Rounds*
This is a test of your knowledge.
In this activity you cannot rely on your tablemates; it is
simply going to show you what you know and what you
need more assistance on. Using the provided whiteboard and pen each group must
choose a number. Everyone in your group will do their
problem number. Round 1
(1)  4m – 4 = 4m
(2)  a + 5 = -5a + 5
(3)  p – 4 = -9 + 2p
(4)  7h + 11 = -6h – 2
*Rounds*
Meet with another person in the room that did the same
number and compare solutions. If you disagree oind another person that did the same
number as you and compare. Round 2
(1)  2 + 7Ÿ5
(2)  9 – 32 ÷ 4
(3)  72 ÷ 9 + 7
(4)  (3Ÿ4)2 + 2
*Rounds*
Meet with another person in the room that did the same
number and compare solutions. If you disagree oind another person that did the same
number as you and compare. Getting Ready!
For the remainder of the period we will be doing more
practice problems from Algebra 1 that will get you ready
for Geometry! These will all be done on your whiteboard. Cool-Down
