Adaptation Activity – Create your own organism
1.
Pick a biome that your organism will be adapted to (Ex: tropical rainforest, desert, tundra). The
organism has to be built to be fit for that environment.
2.
Create your very own organism that will be the most adapted for your environment. It can be
brand new, or some type of cross between existing organisms that already exist.
3.
Your organism has to include at least one of each of the 3 types of adaptations (physiological,
anatomical, and behavioral) that make them better fit for the biome that you chose.
4.
On a separate sheet of paper:
a.
Title it with the name of your organism (your choice)
b. Write which biome you chose
c.
Draw your organism in the environment that you chose (I have to tell from the
drawing what biome it is). I also need to be able to see the adaptations that you
chose in the picture (ex: fur, claws, etc.).
d. On another sheet of paper, write (in sentence form) the name of your organism
and why you selected that name. Explain each of the 6 adaptations you selected
for your organism and explain why you chose those adaptations. The last sentence
show state.. Based upon these adaptations in this Biome, my organism can survive
because...
