‘Colour me 80s’ Fundraising Ideas Fundraising Ideas for In Store • Encourage customers to buy our 80s-themed, limited-edition trolley key rings: Each store will be receiving 100 ‘Limited-edition’ 80s-themed trolley key rings to sell. These can be displayed on your counter tops until stock has sold out. Please ask your teams to encourage your customers to buy one and support the partnership. • Ask customers to round-it-up: Such a busy weekend presents the perfect time to invite your customers to make a donation. Please ask them to ‘Round it Up’ to the nearest £1 / €1 at check out during the weekend and over the next two weeks. • Support our volunteers who will be in stores collecting on Saturday 27 July: Hundreds and hundreds of volunteers will be giving up their own time to collect donations for our charity partnership. There is a target of £100,000 that we will be able to reach with your support, so please make the volunteers welcome and let customers know that they are there and encourage them to donate! • Dress up in your favourite 80s colour: Fantastic 80s style neon caps will be arriving in stores shortly, please wear one to help bring the 80s theme to life in your store. If you are feeling creative, why not dress up in an 80s inspired outfit – trying dressing from head to toe in your favourite neon colour, or take inspiration from all of the great music in the 1980s and dress as an iconic 80s pop star. • 80s Tuck shop: Invite colleagues to treat themselves to these 80s favourites… penny sweets, flying saucers, cherries, black jacks etc and ask them to make a donation for each pack of sweets. • 80s Space Hopper Race: Invite colleagues to enter a thrilling space hopper race with a prize for the winner. Each person pays to enter and could even ask friends and colleagues to sponsor them via their justgiving page. Participants will need to supply their own space hopper which they could personalise for race day! • 80s Air Guitar Super Star: Hold a guitar competition on a popular games console in store. Ask contestants to make a donation to enter and provide a prize for the winner! Out of Store Fundraising Ideas • 80s Quiz: Hold an 80s themed quiz night for colleagues, friends and family. We can provide you with a question sheet just call the hotline on +44 (0) 845 678 7678. • Organise a karaoke or movie night: Ask locally if you can hire a function room and hold an 80s night full of 80s music or screen a classic 80s movie. Ask people to make a donation to attend and get everyone dressing up to really get into the 80s spirit. • Sign up for one of our challenge events: Take your inspiration from Olivia Newton John and get physical! Try and get a venue for free, and select the biggest 80 tunes to play throughout the night. Donate the money you raise from ticket sales to the charity. • ‘Fame’ Talent Competition: Feeling inspired by this 80s movie classic? Organise a ‘Fame’ themed talent competition and invite your colleagues to enter. Donate the money from ticket sales to the charity. Share your Good News and Photos We want to hear how the 80s week has gone for you. Share any interesting stories with us, how much did your store raise? Was there a stand out costume one of your colleagues wore? Did an event or fundraising initiative go better than you had hoped? What are your future fundraising plans? It would be great to see any photos from your events. Why not be creative and make them as original as possible, with people wearing comedy items or action shots going on in store.
