Umpiring
We have a levelled umpire that would like to run an umpires development program at Northern Softball.

Coaching Level 1 & 2 Accreditation Course
If there are any interested in a Level 1 or Level 2 Coaching Accreditation Course being held at our Club Rooms,
please let Cathy Ferraro know by replying to this email. It is hoped to be able to arrange for some coaching
accreditation courses through Softball Victoria over the winter break.
Second hand catchers gear
If there is anyone interested in purchasing some second hand catcher’s gear (includes chest plate, leg guards,
catcher’s helmet, cleats and bag), please see either Ray Cater or Cathy Ferraro.
Drought Proofing our Mill Park Reserve using Rainwater Tanks
City of Whittlesea, Yarra Valley Water and the Victorian State Government have selected Mill Park Reserve for a
unique drought proofing trial involving domestic rainwater tanks. We are seeking 100 interested households to
support the Reserve by installing a 4,000 litre rainwater tank in their home.
Each rainwater tank installation connected to the toilet or laundry saves potable water. 100 tanks combined will
save enough water to irrigate our Mill Park Reserve sports field when the next drought hits. Mill Park Reserve will
be the first trial of the scheme in Victoria, and possibly Australia.
The cost of each tank installations will be subsidised and the estimated out-of-pocket expense per installation will
be between $1,500 and $2,200.
Successful participants in the trial will be supporting their local community by keeping Mill Park Reserve green,
while reducing their own water usage.
Participation is only available to Whittlesea residents.
If you would like to enquire about the scheme please contact Edmond Lascaris – Project Manager (Mob: 0412
978 633, Tel: 9401 0512, Email: [email protected]).
