IN JUST TEN YEARS THE CALCULATOR WENT FROM A LARGE, HEAVY MACHINE

CALCULATING & THE FUTURE
ALTHOUGH THE CALCULATOR HAS NOT CHANGED SIGNIFICANTLY FROM THE 70S & 80S, THE
TECHNOLOGY AND FUNCTIONS OF THE CALCULATOR CONTINUE TO BE DEVELOPED.
THE 70S WERE MAINLY FOCUSED ON CHEAPER & SMALLER FOUR FUNCTION CALCULATORS. IN THE 80S,
SCIENTIFIC & GRAPHING CACLUALTORS EMERGED FRO MORE A EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL USE.
THE 1970S WERE AN IMPORTANT TIME FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CALCULATOR. THESE DEVELOPMENTS CONTRIBUTED SIGNIFICANTLY TO THE USE OF THE MECHANICAL CALCULATOR IN EDUCATION.

NUMERAL SYSTEM WAS CREATED. AT FIRST, CALCULATIONS WERE
AS SIMPLE AS KEEPING TALLY MARKS.
THEY HAVE NOW EVOLVED INTO COMPLEX
FORMULAS THAT CAN EXPLAIN ALMOST
ANYTHING.
AND EVEN THOUGH THE CALCULATOR CONTINUES TO BE A SIGNIFICANT
TOOL FOR STUENTS, TEACHERS, AND ALL OF SOCIETY, PENCIL AND PAPER
CALCULATIONS WILL NEVER GO AWAY.
THESE HAND CALCULATIONS ARE
TAUGHT AND PRACTICED FROM
PRESCHOOL TO HIGHER EDCUATION.
IT IS ALWAYS IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND
THE BASICS OF MATHEMATICS, AND TO CHECK
ONE’S WORK.
WHILE HAND CALCULATIONS CAN BE MORE
TIME CONSUMING AND CONFUSING, THEY ARE
