Chemical Surface Peels Technical Guide
Bioelements Chemical Surface Peels
and The Bioelements Vision
“coax the skin into shape,
never assault it”. ™
Today’s traditional peels all fall into the same trap: they’re often composed of monster-strength
percentages of single acids – with the philosophy that “stronger is better.”
They’re ablative, result in a sunburn-like appearance, and leave the client to hide for several uncomfortable,
unsightly, itchy, skin-shedding days. But Bioelements vision has always been to “coax the skin into shape, never
assault it.”™ So we’ve created peels that eclipse our fearsome predecessors. These unrivaled formulas are light
years ahead of traditional peels: they detoxify, draw out aging environmental impurities, and leave skin glowing
instead of flaking – with natural built-in buffers. Joining our popular Lactic-Plus Peel Level 1, we’ve added two
advanced, acid-hybrid formulas that increase in activity – Glycolic Detox Charcoal Peel Levels 2 and 3 –
and an acetone-free, alcohol-free Peel Prep Lipid Eraser to accelerate treatment results and allow for maximum
penetration. All with zero pain, zero flaking, zero downtime.
These elegant formulas include a combination of multiple exfoliating acids – Glycolic and Lactic Acids, plus
extracts of exfoliating fruit acids – with natural buffering Willowherb and Aloe to prevent redness and irritation.
Plus, activated Coconut Charcoal stimulates microcirculation, draws out impurities and pollution’s heavy metals,
and detoxifies the skin – creating a service no other spa offers. These advanced acid-hybrid peels dissolve dead
epidermal cells, but because the particles are so small, they are invisible to the naked eye. It’s non-surgical,
non-ablative peel technology that works on a microscopic level – so you get a completely controlled removal
of damaged skin: to smooth texture, improve line and wrinkle appearance, brighten, lift pigment, and increase
hydration and firmness. And they’re so powerful, so effective – you can even use them on the hands, neck and
V-area, building an entire service menu with targeted glycolic chemical peel treatments.

How do Bioelements Chemical Surface Peels differ from the rest?
THEIRS/Traditional ablative chemical peels
•
Monster-strength single acids remove the entire epidermal layer
down to the dermal junction, or further down into the upper
dermal layers
•
Due to the amount of skin removed and the resulting open wound,
significant client aftercare and negative attributes can occur.
vs
OURS/Bioelements Chemical Surface Peels
•
Non-surgical, non-ablative acid-hybrid works invisibly, on a
microscopic level on the uppermost layers of the epidermis.
•
The client never has to worry about negative side effects.
•
No pain or burning sensations during the treatment
or afterwards.
•
Skin takes on an instant, healthy glow.
•
The peeling process is invisible to the naked eye since it
occurs at the microscopic level.
•
Skin may feel warm/cool sensations throughout the treatment.
The skin may feel tight afterwards, especially on the cheek
and forehead area in clients with naturally dry skin.
•
Pain or a burning sensation during treatment and afterwards.
•
Sunburned appearance that lasts for days or weeks.
•
Open wounds, “weeping” skin crusting, scabbing, or frosting.
•
Post-peel sloughing, excessive peeling, or darkening of skin that
peels off in patches.
•
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) in darker Fitzpatrick
skin tones.
•
Safe for all Fitzpatrick skin tones.
•
Possible risk of infection.
•
NO risk of infection.
•
Swelling at application site, around eye area or on eyelids.
Prolonged recovery time (days or weeks, depending on the peel).
•
Can immediately apply cosmetics, skin care and sunscreen.
NO downtime. Client can immediately resume normal daily
routine after each treatment. No need to ‘hide’.
•
Antibiotic ointments, heavy medicated gels or occlusive cremes
that have to be applied up to 20 times a day. In some cases,
medicated patches or tape are applied to face post-peel.
•
Minimal and manageable At-Home Agenda
that won’t disrupt daily routine.
•
Clients see immediate results, and will continue to see
dramatic, long-term results with a progressive series of
Ultra-Detox Chemical Peels and proper At-Home Care.
•
Positive long-term results can be achieved, but can take weeks or
months to see results, based on the type of peel and how long it
takes the individual’s skin to heal.

2. Apply a thin coat of the appropriate chemical peel with a DRY Bioelements Treatment Brush, starting
from the forehead and working down over the entire face, avoiding the eye and lip area. Once product
is applied, begin timing and leave product on for up to 5 minutes. Do not rinse the Bioelements
Treatment Brush.
3. Slowly glide your Bioelements Treatment Brush over the entire face (and neck and chest if applied there) to
ensure application is even, and help ease any itching sensations that client may be feeling at this time.
Continue doing this the entire time the peel is on the skin.
Note: You may also apply this product to the neck and v-area of the chest. An
additional amount equal to what was used on the face will be needed to cover
this area. Once product is applied, begin timing and leave product on for up to
5 minutes. Do not rinse the Bioelements Treatment Brush.
Chemical Peel Removal
1. To remove and instantly neutralize the peel, take one wet piece of gauze pad at a time out of the bowl of
chilled water and unfold it completely. Apply one gauze pad at a time until entire face is covered, starting
at the cheeks, then forehead, then over the bridge of the nose, then chin. Do not cover the nostrils or mouth.
2. Gently press the wet pads over the face to absorb the peel. Working from the forehead down, begin
removing the peel quickly and evenly.
NOTE: If peel was applied to the neck and v-area, apply chilled gauze to these
areas as well then remove from neck down, once pads are removed from face.
3. Now wrap both hands with chilled gauze and go over entire face from forehead down to remove any
remaining product.
Double-Neutralize
1. Immediately apply { 1 B } Softening Gel to entire face with a clean Bioelements Treatment Brush to
double-neutralize any acid that may still be on the skin even after product removal.
2. Slowly, and with very light pressure, massage Softening Gel over entire application area to ensure
no peel remains on the skin.
3. Re-apply chilled gauze pads on top of the Softening Gel, and then gently press your hands down onto
the compresses to ensure the Softening Gel has been driven into the skin. Leave on for a few minutes, and
then remove gauze again. Put gauze back into water.
Skin Sedation / Comedone Removal Prep Mask
1. Blend Softening Gel { 1 B } with Emergency Soothing Powder {½
and apply to face and neck with a Bioelements Treatment Brush.

is on and continue with this movement while mask is on the skin. Remove after 5 minutes with gauze pads

Service Menu Description: Bioelements Ultra-Detox Chemical Peel
The skin you want is under the skin you see. Reveal it with our powerful, non-surgical acid-hybrid peel. You’ll
undo years of visible damage and premature age signs – without the redness, flaking, or actual “peeling”
of the skin from a traditional peel. Our advanced peel technology removes the uppermost layers of the skin
at a microscopic level, to immediately tighten, unclog pores, improve lines and leave skin with a younger,
velvety-smooth texture. Plus, you’ll benefit from detoxifying activated charcoal to draw out aging impurities.
Best results achieved with a series of treatments – your esthetician will choose from two different glycolic acid
levels to meet your skin’s needs each time.
Ultra-Detox Progressive Peels
Build and market an Ultra-Detox Chemical Peel package that includes the price of a progressive series of
treatments in addition to the recommended take-home formulas for your clients to use pre and post treatment.
We recommend treatments take place in 2-4 week intervals in order to achieve optimum results. Depending
on your client’s skin, you can progress from week to week by increasing strength and activity from one
treatment to the next.
with a complimentary Bioelements SkinReading® and encourage clients to book this consultation
