Preschool
Playgroup – Children and a parent have the
opportunity to enjoy unstructured playtime. As
there is no instructor, parents will be responsible for
the safety of their children, as well as picking up
toys, food, etc., at the end of the playgroup.
Begins: January 13 - March 30.
Ages: Infant - 5yrs.

Tiny Tigers – Location: American Cadre
Karate, Kingston This program is designed to
teach the basic fundamentals of martial arts, as well
as life skills. We stress the importance of respect,
listening skills, strengthening, social skills, stranger
danger, and self confidence. Begins: February 11.

4 Week Program

Parent & Me Soccer- This parent and me class
is similar to the UK Petite Soccer, but with direct
parent involvement and participation in the
program. Begins: January 12.

UK Petite Soccer-This program includes both
physical and physiological training for players. All
“games” are based on having fun and will teach
players how to play soccer and interact with others.
The curriculum is based around the philosophy of
maximizing the enjoyment of soccer and getting a
soccer ball into a child’s life. Begins: January 12.

French for Tots-Toddlers will get immersed in
basic French through a variety of games, songs,
books and hands on activities with Miss Amy from
Globo Lingo Kids! Begins January 14.

On Your Toes with Tracey – 2nd

Art-Creative Art Studio - Participants can
come and explore new art materials. This will be an
open studio where children will get the opportunity
to experiment with different art materials and make
artwork to bring home. They can build, paint, or
color and will learn new techniques to make their
artwork. Begins: January 13 – March 30.

Tumbling -Movement to Music- 2nd
Installment Due - The 2nd installment fee is due
for the Movement to Music Program the first week

Starcreations Theater –Starcreations Theater
presents the musical theater winter workshop "Hard
Knock Life". This workshop will instruct students
on theater, music, and dance and will culminate in a
live performance at the end of the program.
Through music and acting development, this
workshop helps build children’s self-esteem and
explore their creativity. Great roles for both
male and female participants - no prior theater
experience necessary.
Dress Rehearsal March 31st. Final performances on
Thursday and Friday, March 31st and April 1st at 7
pm. Begins: January 5.
12 Week Program

Minecraft Club-In Minecraft, what you can
create is only limited by your imagination! Students
will play Minecraft EDU, a special version of
Minecraft made for schools. They will be able to
explore, collaborate, and design to create worlds
and challenges for other students, while getting to
build a virtual environment!

Soccer-KYSA Winter Training-This program
is an age specific, 6 week series for players looking
to develop the technical part of their game.
Sessions will focus on the fundamental building
blocks of ball control, passing, receiving, dribbling
and 1vs. 1. Coaching is provided by Global Indoor
Sports and utilizes only professionally licensed
instructors for all its programs.
Begins: February 3.

Acting-How to become the Best Actor in
the World-This program will introduce and
enhance primary acting skills in a fun small class
environment. Participants will utilize teamwork
and close one on one attention via games, exercises,
and group activities. By the end of the course,
students will participate in an informal performance
for invited parents and guests to apply their skills
learned. No previous experience required.

Technology Club- There are so many fun,
innovative ways to use technology today. With this
club, children will be able to take advantage of great
tools to do just that. They will have the opportunity
to design and print 3D models, learn computer
programming through the use of Sphere SPRK
robots, design their own playable video game using
an I Pad app and even fly quadcopter (weather
permitting). Begins: January 14.

Tennis 101– Location: Kingsbury Club,
Kingston – Children will learn the lifelong sport of
tennis in a fun, positive environment using age
appropriate size equipment and balls. The program
will teach and reinforce proper stroke technique,
basic rallying skills and introductory play.

Lego Club – Enter the world of dynamic Lego
building, where each experience will explore
different themes and challenges. Make friends and
share ideas while building your creations. Weekly
contest and prizes!

Age: 6-12
Wednesdays, 4:30-5:30pm Fee: $70/session
Sweep Hockey- NHL style "Sweep
Hockey"/Floor Hockey program. No prior hockey
experience needed. A creative alternative to
protecting the floors, a sock-like material will be
added to the blade of the stick, creating "sweep
hockey". This program is a great way to introduce
your child to the fun of hockey without the ice. It is
also a great way for current hockey players to work
on stick handling and shooting. Street hockey sticks
are available for players to use, or they can bring
their own. Players will need a helmet and mouth
guard; the sock-like material will be added to the
blade of the stick by the instructors. Each player
will receive a t-shirt and will be placed on an NHL
named team. Players will have a 60 minute game
each week. This program is for both, boys and
girls, grades1-6. Begin: January 14.

Yoga-Yoga is a fun innovative form of exercise
which comes very natural to children. During class
children exercise and express themselves in a
natural playful way through yoga poses, games,
music, and meditation. We will also focus on
positive self esteem and kindness towards each
other. Mats will be provided by instructor. Begins
January 11.

Kids will enjoy game room activities, and partying
down to DJ music.
After you purchase online, please print the
paper invoice. The invoice is your ticket. An
invoice on your phone will not be acceptable at
this time. If you do not have access to a printer, you
may come into the office and we can print for
you. Your child will need to bring their invoice with
them the night of the party - this will be your child's
entrance to the party.
Parents are required to chaperone. Twenty
chaperones are required for each party. If there are
not enough chaperones by the Wednesday before
the party, the party could be cancelled. This is
necessary due to the requirement to have a certain
number of adults per number of children. Therefore,
when you register for this event you will be entered
in to a lottery. Parents will be picked from this
lottery to chaperone. A CORI and copy of driver’s
license is required.
If you would like to chaperone, please call or stop
by the office. All parents are welcome to chaperone
at any time.

Middle School and High School
Students
Art-Creative Art Studio for Middle and
High School Students- This studio time will
provide participants opportunities for creating
whatever they want using many different supplies,
mediums, and styles while being creative in their
own artistic style. This program will also allow for
one on one direction and support to further their
creative and artistic interests.
Begins: January 13 – March 30.

Yoga Teen-Yoga is a great way for teens to
engage in a healthy activity that promotes a strong
mind/body connection, calms the mind and relieves
stress, increases mobility and flexibility. Yoga also
boosts self-esteem for participants.

Art-Painting Classes for Teens for Middle
and High School Students-This class is open
to all levels from beginners through experienced.
Grasp unique techniques, color theory, and selfexpression through creative focuses. Each week we
will experiment with new styles and techniques
creating self- expression and confidence within our
creative abilities. Be brave and take chances
bringing to life images you've never dared to
explore before, with having artist Brooke Kelly
there to guide and answer any questions along the
way. All supplies will be provided for each class.
Please wear paint clothes. If you hear about this
after it has already started, do not worry. You can
sign up for the remaining classes in the block and
we will get you caught up. Begins: January 26.

Pickleball-Pickleball is a racquet sport that
combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table
tennis. A paddle sport created for all ages and skill
levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for
beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick,
fast-paced, competitive game. Go to

Ski Trip - Come enjoy the day off from school
on the slopes and help to raise money for the
rehabilitation of the Captain Fred
L. Baily Playground at the Reed Community
property. No, children will not be "skipping"
school - Silver Lake has no school this day, as it is
an in-service day for teachers.
Luxury coach bus leaves from Silver Lake Middle
School at 6:15am and will return at approximately
7:30pm.

Egg Hunt-Join us for a morning hunting for eggs,
a jelly bean guess, face painting, and a special visit
from the Easter Bunny! All children must be

printed ticket is required. Event begins promptly at
10:00am.

Mass Parks Pass- Reserve this park pass to visit
state parks in Massachusetts. This park pass will
allow the bearer free parking for one vehicle in over
50 facilities. You must come into the recreation
office to pick up pass and sign it out. This Pass
must be returned within two days of borrowing.
