The Inaugural Friesen 5K Fun Run in
2006 was held to celebrate Carolina
Hurricanes Head Trainer and Strength
and Conditioning Coach Peter Friesen’s
day with the Stanley Cup. In the 5
years this event has been held, over
8500 Caniacs have participated and
over $200,000 has been raised for the Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society of Eastern North Carolina.
Come out and run with Peter Friesen as well as several
Hurricanes players, coaches and staff in this fun filled event
around the RBC Center and surrounding parking lots.

Friesen 5K Fun Run will be timing all 5K participants to give you
an accurate time for the run. Timing chips must be tied to your
shoes and will be given out at the race on Sunday. Be sure to
allow enough time on race day to pick up your timing chip.
Official Times
Top 3 Overall Male and Female runners receive awards. All
registered participants will be eligible for special drawings
including autographed items donated by the Hurricanes players.
Team Competition
The team with the highest fundraising will receive a special
award from Peter Friesen and the Carolina Hurricanes. All
teams must designate a Captain and have a team name.
Funds raised must be turned in before the run on Sunday.

Drawing for Special Prizes
All registered participants will be eligible for drawings at
the conclusion of the races for autographed items from the
Carolina Hurricanes players as well as special prizes from our
sponsors and the Carolina Hurricanes organization.

Runner Information
If for any reason beyond the control of the Race Director or
Race Committee (i.e., inclement weather, state or national
emergency) the race should be cancelled, no refunds will be
made. Arrangements to pick up t-shirts will be posted on
ncraces.com.
We do not allow dogs or pets in our race. In addition, we do not
allow skates, skateboards, bicycles or any means of transportation other than running or walking. Failure to obey these
guidelines will result in removal from the race course per the
Race Committee.

Entry Fees
Friesen 5K Fun Run – $25 ($30 beginning September 1)
All 5K runners will be timed and must pick up timing chips at
Registration. If you do not desire an official time, you do not
need to wear a chip.
100 Yard and 200 Yard Kids Caniac Dash - $10 (includes
shirt) - no late fee
To guarantee getting your shirt size, you must register no later
than September 1, we will have shirts available, but will not
guarantee you we will have your correct size. If we should run
out of shirts on race day, we do not re-order.
