The Complex
OLD BURY HILL LAKE
This 12.5 acre 75 peg Victorian estate lake is an amazing mixed fishery,
containing specimen carp to upper 30s, pike to over 20 lb, zander topping 16
lb, huge shoals of quality bream and tench to double-figures as well as an
assortment of silver fish.
Surrounded by mature trees, rhododendrons and lined with lilies, the Old
Lake is a stunning setting. Holding over 700 double-figure carp and a big
head of 20s with both commons and mirrors to 30 lb, action is often hectic.
Bream and tench sport is unrivalled with pleasure nets topping 100 lb. Open
for predator sport between October 1st and March 14th the Old Lake is one
of the country’s finest zander venues with double-figure fish plentiful, with
specimens to threaten the British record.
A unique feature is Bury Hill’s flat bottomed punts. Holding up to three
people they allow anglers to quietly explore inviting areas, from the

MILTON LAKE

who prefer a more traditional day’s
fishing. A tremendous stock of tench,
crucian, roach, golden rudd, perch
and small carp feature in pleasure
nets to 200 lb and match weights

margins and large beds of lilies make
Milton an intimate and fun venue.
Winter sport is also fantastic with

BONDS LAKE
The smaller of the two lakes in the lower valley, Bonds at 20 pegs is a
small picturesque lake with a central island and extensive reedbeds that
is a carp hauler’s paradise. Thousands of fit fish to 10 lb make for big
catches on carp crunching pole gear, running line or feeder with nets to
an arm aching 300 lb reported by match and pleasure anglers alike, with
sport continuing right through the colder months.
BIG, BRITISH CARP AT TEMPLE LAKE
LOOKING for the biggest and best looking pedigree English carp? On four acre Temple Lake your hook
baits are in front of 100 hand picked carp averaging close to 29 lb with an amazing 35 fish over 30 lb
up to 40 lb.
A £350,000 project, every detail of the lake has been considered for the discerning carper – from
spacious swims to the sculpting of underwater features in every peg. True English stock has been
carefully sourced, with heavily scaled mirrors, linears, commons and ghosts, each fish catalogued and
micro chipped to ensure growth rates are monitored.
Temple is run on a limited membership basis to guarantee exclusivity, annual fees are £50 for
membership to the Specimen Carp Club, day and night tickets purchased thereafter. Membership also
permits night fishing on the Old Lake with its hundreds of doubles, and many 20s and 30s. As weights
on Temple rocket and substantial numbers of 40s become more and more likely a waiting list is in

FIRST CLASS FACILITIES
TO the smallest detail facilities at Bury Hill give the most comfortable,
convenient fishing available with secure car parking, flat gravelled
paths and large purpose built swims making the fishery particularly
disabled friendly.
The magnificent boathouse offers clean, heated ladies and gents’
toilets, a shower, plus a café with lakeside views serving full
breakfasts or hot and cold snacks and sandwiches that can be eaten
in or taken back to your peg.
A well stocked tackle shop offers hardware from rods, reels, nets and
mats to line, leads, hooks and extensive terminal tackle. A full range of
bait is on offer including boilies, pop-ups and pellets plus maggots,
groundbaits and predator baits.

can help you with everything from core pole and waggler
skills to knot tying. Choose from one of our great value
general courses or private one-to-one sessions of three
or five hours or sign up for a Big Fish day or night course
to learn the skills of carp, pike or zander angling. Dates

Our rules exist to protect our fish stocks and the enjoyment of other
anglers. Please be aware of the rules before fishing, they are printed
on your day ticket and viewable on the website. Basic rules include:
• All fish must be returned alive
• No access to the fishery before the arrival of a bailiff
• No night fishing other than for specimen carp club members
• All nets to be dipped before fishing
• No keepnets or sacks other than in organised matches
• All anglers must use unhooking mats – available on site at a
discounted price of £9.99
• Barbless hooks only
• All carp, pike and zander anglers must have a large padded
mat and large net
• Pike and zander fishing Oct 1st to March 14th only
• Under 16s may only fish for predators when accompanied by
an adult.
