Puppeteer, Maggie Whalen’s Magpie Puppets

Maggie has been a puppeteer for 48 years; she began
performing in her own storefront theater in the early 70s
as Poor People’s Puppets in NYC which she founded and
directed. Other companies she
worked with : Bread & Puppet
Theatre in Vermont and Luna
Theater in Massachusetts.
Maggie offers workshops for
making puppets and is
commissioned to create
custom-made puppets for
theaters, filmmakers, and
individuals. She is also an
occupational therapist.
