Our graduating seniors are leaving behind many memories, inspiring teachers, and accomplishments that are both told and unspoken. For some, the accomplishment may have been passing that last class to earn a diploma. For others, it has been becoming an honors student. No matter what the level of accomplishment, we would like to congratulate them all for finishing their 13 years of school successfully and wish them the best. Oh, The Places You’ll Go Just as these seniors are leaving many memories and forging into a new world, I am also. With my retirement, I cannot help but think back to the wonderful world of Keystone High School. It has been an extraordinary time of accomplishment and formation of new relationships that I will never forget. I feel like I am part of the Class of 2013 as I venture on to a new and hopefully exciting future. As our graduates venture off to their pursuits after KHS, I would like them to remember a few inspired words of the great author, Dr. Seuss; I know I will. “ Congratulations! Today is your day. You’re off to Great Places! You’re off and away! And will you succeed? Yes! You will indeed! (98 and ¾ percent guaranteed) KID, YOU’LL MOVE MOUNTAINS! So... Your mountain is waiting. Get on your way. ” From the staff at KHS, we wish all of our graduates the best as they move that waiting mountain. Honor Societies & Important Academic Programs National Honor Society (NHS) is an organization that recognizes and encourages academic achievement and community involvement. Leadership, service, character and scholarship are the four pillars by which this society is founded. “NHS is a great way to recognize students’ hard work. It helped me expand my leadership skills and also understand the value of community service.” - Hannah Clouser Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program (PSEO) offers students the opportunity to earn college credit while attending high school. In partnership with Lorain County Community College and Bowling Green State University, this program helps students get an advanced start in college and saves the money spent on university coursework. “The PSEO program gives you the chance to explore new horizons beyond the high school experience. I loved being able to sit alongside my classmates and share this experience with them.” - Sarah Speck Teacher Education Exploration Program (TEE) is designed for high school seniors interested in pursuing a college degree in education. This program provides aspiring teachers with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the school environment. “The TEE program really solidified my career choice and gave me a whole new perspective on all the hard work teachers do to help us learn and grow.” - Brittany Gates Lorain County Joint Vocational School (JVS) offers quality career-technical programs for students from Keystone Schools. Students receive individualized, hands-on learning experiences in over 25 programs in a state-of-the-art facility. 1 “The Allied Health Sciences Program at the JVS taught me so much about leadership, independence, and responsibility. ” - Madeline Pisanelli www.keystonelocalschools.org Top 5 Students Sarah Lilly Speck Hannah Mae Clouser Nicholas William Hinkle Christina Marie Ficociello Brittany Nicole Gates Class Officers President Brittany Lynn Sokolowski Vice President Michael George Billinghurst III Secretary Hannah Mae Clouser Treasurer Brianna Margaret Lawless 2 www.keystonelocalschools.org Keystone Scholarship Recipients Keystone High School is tremendously grateful for the generosity of the surrounding community.
