Spring 2014
Attendance
We can’t announce this week’s winner of the
attendance trophy as the attendance assembly
won’t be until Monday and we want to keep it a
surprise for the children! We’ll let you know in the
next newsletter after the holiday.
Last week’s winner was Base 1 with 100%
attendance! Well done to them!
Ink/Toner Cartridge Recycling
The ISA are collecting used, domestic ink and toner
cartridges for recycling, to raise money for the school.
Please send in any that you may have - a collection
box is in the office. Thank you!
World Book Day Competition
We thought you might be interested in the answers
to the teachers’ favourite books competition:
Mrs Lewis - The Hobbit
Mrs Field - Malory Towers
Miss Holloway - Guess How Much I
Love You
Mrs Galbraith - The Very Hungry
Caterpillar
Mrs Foley - Winnie the Witch
Mrs Elson - The Famous Five
Mrs Fairbairn - Room on the Broom
Mrs Roche - The Lion, the Witch and
the Wardrobe
Mrs Willett - Floss
Mrs Waldie - Jemima Puddle-Duck
We collected £68 through the
competition and donations on our World
Book Day celebration, which will be
spent on Star books for the classrooms.
Thank you to all that took part.
The children (and staff) looked great in
their costumes—we had a special
assembly where each class showed off
their costumes and Mr Keenan chose the
best one in each class and awarded them
a book prize.
****ERIC NEWS****
We are thrilled to announce that Ryan
Spicer has earned all his ERIC certificates
and is officially a good learner with a great
attitude in school!
He has chosen his prize and received a
special certificate too. Well done, Ryan!
Eric is very excited at how many families
have been helping to spot their children
using Eric skills at home recently, and it
has been lovely sharing all of your
delightful messages with the staff!
Eric’s book is filling up well—you should be
very proud of your children.
Next time you are in school, why not have
a browse of Eric’s Special Book for yourself
and see how well the children are all doing!
