CORINTO, NICARAGUA
CIO-004 OLD LEON & COLONIAL LEON
Duration: 8.00 Hrs
Tour Price: $125.00
Date: June 30, 2015 09:30 AM
Explore the two Leons: the original 16th-century city, which was once buried in volcanic ash, and then a later version, which became an alluring colonial city.
Depart from the pier and drive inland to Lake Managua, which is often referred to by its indigenous name Xolotian. Here, in 1524 Spanish conquistadors
founded the original city of Leon, now known as Old Leon. Although in ruins, the city is an archaeological marvel because it was abandoned after a series of
volcanic eruptions and earthquakes in the early 1600s, which buried everything in ash. The city stood completely undisturbed until 1967, when excavation
began, leading to Old Leon’s nickname “The Pompeii of Central America.”
Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city offers a remarkable glimpse into 16th-century life in one of the earliest Spanish colonial settlements. During
your guided tour of the well-preserved ruins, you will see a cathedral, convent, royal foundry and private homes constructed of wood, bamboo and mud.
Eventually, the inhabitants left and established a newer Leon, which you will explore following a buffet lunch at a local restaurant there.
You’ll experience the colonial city’s charm firsthand by touring the main plaza and the magnificent Leon Cathedral, whose construction began in 1747. Now a
UNESCO World Heritage Site, the cathedral beautifully illustrates several architectural styles and features thick low towers shaped to withstand earthquakes.
As you walk through the interior, you will notice the abundance of natural sunlight and rich ornamentation, including a treasured wooden Flemish altarpiece.
At the conclusion of your guided walking tour, you will re-board your coach and drive back to the pier in Corinto.
Please note: This tour includes nearly 4-hours of travel on a coach and just over 2-hours of moderate walking. There are an optional 60 steps to negotiate if
guests wish to visit the roof of the cathedral. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, are able to make their own way on
and off the coach and have an able-bodied companion to assist them. Those guests with mobility concerns are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal
level of stamina and ability. Weather appropriate clothing; sun cap; sunglasses; a bottle of water from the ship; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are
recommended. Please check with your guide before taking photos in Old Leon as there are some restrictions. *Daytime temperatures in this destination can
be quite high.*
CIO-007 CERRO NEGRO TREK
Duration: 8.00 Hrs
Tour Price: $155.00
Date: June 30, 2015 09:30 AM
Savor the adventure of climbing to the rim of Cerro Negro volcano, following by a more leisurely exploration of the colonial city of Leon.
Depart from the pier and settle in for a scenic drive into Nicaragua’s rural countryside. In time, you will arrive at the base of Cerro Negro, the youngest
volcano in Central America. It first erupted in 1850, and while there have been occasional eruptions since then the volcano has only damaged farmland
because it is located in a sparsely populated area.
Your hike along the black basalt slopes of Cerro Negro will take approximately two hours, and the views are spectacular throughout as the volcano is
completely void of vegetation. The trail is an unpaved, natural path that leads to the rim, where you will have a bird’s-eye view into the smoking crater below
and a 360-degree view of the surrounding land. It’s well worth the effort and compared to other volcanoes, Cerro Negro is easily accessible.
After descending, you will drive to the colonial city of Leon for lunch and free time in its vibrant main square. Magnificent Leon Cathedral, whose construction
began in 1747, dominates the popular gathering place. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the cathedral beautifully illustrates several architectural styles
and features thick low towers shaped to withstand earthquakes. If you walk through the interior, you will notice the abundance of natural sunlight and rich
ornamentation. Later, you will return to the pier.
Please note: This tour includes over 4-hours of travel on a coach, 2-hours of moderate to strenuous hiking, plus anY additional walking at the guests’
discretion during free time in Leon. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests or those with mobility concerns. Guests should be in good physical
condition. Light-weight clothing; sun cap; sunglasses; sunscreen; and a bottle of water from the ship are recommended. Flat, sturdy hiking shoes are
required. *Daytime temperatures in this destination can be quite high.*

CIO-008 FLORA DE CANA RUM TOUR
Duration: 4.00 Hrs
Tour Price: $105.00
Date: June 30, 2015 09:30 AM, 11:30 AM
Discover the complexity and joy of producing rum at the esteemed Flor de Caña distillery, where you will enjoy a tasting of slow-aged rum.
Depart from the pier and drive inland to the rural town of Chichigalpa. Located at the foot of the steep San Cristobal volcano, the town is surrounded by plains
that are ideal for growing cotton and sugar cane. This latter crop has been especially important to Chichigalpa’s growth, as it’s a primary ingredient in the rum
produced here since 1890.
Although the brand Flor de Caña wasn’t created until 1937, the company’s founders were among Nicaragua’s earliest rum makers. The fifth generation of the
Pellas family now owns the distillery, which you will tour in depth. Flor de Caña rums are slow-aged, a process that starts with molasses from sugar cane
harvested locally. After distillation, the rum is aged in small American white oak barrels without additives or accelerants that might alter the purity.
The finished products are outstanding, as you will see by sampling some exquisite 18-year-old Flor de Caña rum. Amber-colored and full-bodied, the rum is
richly complex. Flor de Caña also produces a light-bodied 4-year-old rum, mahogany-hued 7-year-old rum best served on ice, and a toasty, tobacco-like rum
that has been rated one of the world’s Top 10 spirits. There are even Kosher-certified rums, which are available in the Flor de Caña boutique.
Following your tour and tasting, you will return to the pier.
Please note: This tour includes approximately 2 1/2 hours of moderate walking with a few steps to negotiate. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who
have a collapsible wheelchair, are able to make their own way on and off the coach and have an able-bodied companion to assist them. Those guests with
mobility concerns are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Weather appropriate clothing; sun cap; sunglasses; a bottle
of water from the ship; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Guests under 21 years of age are not permitted to take part in this tour.

CIO-006 HISTORY & ARTS
Duration: 5.75 Hrs
Tour Price: $85.00
Date: June 30, 2015 09:45 AM
Nicaragua’s bountiful creativity takes center stage as you tour an extraordinary art gallery, a museum devoted to the country’s most revered poet, and
historical Leon Cathedral.
Depart from the pier and enjoy a scenic drive to Leon, a city in the volcanic lowlands of northwestern Nicaragua. Founded by Spanish conquistadors on the
edge of Lake Managua in 1524, Leon was heavily damaged in an earthquake and later moved to its present site.
Your first stop here will be the Ortiz-Gurdian Foundation, an esteemed art gallery with an extensive collection housed in two restored colonial buildings on
opposite sides of the street. One building displays mostly pre-Columbian pieces; the other exhibits more contemporary works of art. While Latin American
masters such as Diego Rivera are certainly represented, you may be surprised to find treasures from the likes of Chagall and Picasso, as well.
Next, you will visit the home of Nicaragua’s most famous poet and national hero Ruben Dario. Now a museum, the modest residence contains many of his
personal belongings, original manuscripts, and first editions of his books. Dario is buried in nearby Leon Cathedral, whose construction began in 1747.
While touring the extraordinary cathedral, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, be sure to notice the treasured Flemish altarpiece. The building is a
splendid example of colonial architecture and features thick low towers shaped to withstand earthquakes. Later, during free time, you can explore the
adjoining plaza before returning to the pier.
Please note: This tour includes approximately 2 3/4 hours of moderate walking, plus any additional walking at the guests’ discretion during free time. There
are an optional 60 steps to negotiate if guests wish to visit the roof of the cathedral. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible

are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Weather appropriate clothing; sun cap; sunglasses; a bottle of water from the

CIO-002 COLONIAL LEON & BUBBLING MUD POTS
Duration: 5.00 Hrs
Tour Price: $85.00
Date: June 30, 2015 10:00 AM
A study in contrasts, this excursion presents the beautiful colonial architecture of Leon, juxtaposed against a field of bubbling mud pots in the countryside.
Depart from the pier and enjoy a picturesque drive into the volcanic lowlands of northwestern Nicaragua. It’s a dramatic setting for Leon, the country’s second
largest city. Founded by Spanish conquistadors on the edge of Lake Managua in 1524, Leon was heavily damaged in an earthquake and later moved to its
present site, where it has since thrived.
One of the city’s most striking features is its colonial architecture. You’ll experience its charm firsthand by touring the main plaza and the magnificent Leon
Cathedral, whose construction began in 1747. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the cathedral beautifully illustrates several architectural styles and
features thick low towers shaped to withstand earthquakes. As you walk through the interior, you will notice the abundance of natural sunlight and rich
ornamentation. The wooden Flemish altarpiece is particularly treasured.
Following some free time to explore more of Leon on your own, you will rejoin your coach and drive to the nearby rural community of San Jacinto for a look at
its boiling mud pots. This geothermal phenomenon is constantly active, spewing steam and occasionally hot mud into the air. If you get close enough to the
craters, you can hear the mud boiling fiercely below the surface. The source of all this commotion and intense heat is Telica volcano, which looms in the
background.
After visiting the mud pots, you will transfer back to the pier in Corinto.
Please note: This tour includes approximately 90-minutes of moderate walking, plus any additional walking at the guests’ discretion during free time. There
are an optional 60 steps to negotiate if guests wish to visit the roof of the cathedral. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible

CIO-005 LEON BOTANIC GARDEN
Duration: 5.75 Hrs
Tour Price: $85.00
Date: June 30, 2015 10:00 AM
Savor the serenity of Nicaragua’s first botanic garden, and then set off for Leon, a city long admired for its colonial architecture, especially the Leon
Cathedral.
Depart from the pier and enjoy a leisurely ninety-minute drive into the volcanic lowlands of northwestern Nicaragua, where you will find the esteemed
university in Leon. While the university dates back to early 19th century, this tour focuses on its recently developed botanic garden, the first one in Nicaragua.
You will spend about two hours in this serene oasis, walking the two and one-half mile nature trail, admiring countless species of plants that have been
collected throughout Nicaragua. Most of the specimens come from tropical dry forest and savanna ecosystems, and many of the plants have attributes other
than beauty. Leaves from cacao trees are used as a natural insect repellant, and extracts from the bark of the massively crowned guanacaste tree serve as
soap substitutes. Guanacaste means “ear tree,” as its curled seedpods resemble human ears. Succulents also thrive here, as do dozens of species of birds
from kingfishers to magpies. Following your guided walk, you will have a bit of free time to stroll about on your own.
More attractions await you in Leon’s main plaza, which is dominated by the magnificent Leon Cathedral, whose construction began in 1747. Now a UNESCO
World Heritage Site, the cathedral beautifully illustrates several architectural styles and features thick low towers shaped to withstand earthquakes. If you
walk through the interior, you will notice the abundance of natural sunlight and rich ornamentation. The wooden Flemish altarpiece is particularly treasured.
Later, you will return to the pier.
Please note: This tour includes approximately 2 1/2 hours of moderate walking, plus any additional walking at the guests’ discretion during free time. There
are an optional 60 steps to negotiate if guests wish to visit the roof of the cathedral. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible
wheelchair, are able to make their own way on and off the coach and have an able-bodied companion to assist them. Those guests with mobility concerns
are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Weather appropriate clothing; sun cap; sunglasses; a bottle of water from the
ship; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. *Daytime temperatures in this destination can be quite high.*

CIO-003 COLONIAL LEON & CHOROTEGA MUSEUM
Duration: 5.00 Hrs
Tour Price: $85.00
Date: June 30, 2015 10:15 AM
Behold the artistry of northwestern Nicaragua, which is beautifully expressed through the colonial architecture of Leon and the pre-Columbian ceramics in the
Chorotega Museum.
Then, following free time to explore more of Leon on your own, you will rejoin your coach and drive to Chorotega Museum in Chinandega, which lies in the
shadow of San Cristobal volcano. The museum’s collection of more than 1,000 pieces is primarily pre-Columbian ceramics. There are also other beautifully
crafted stone and metal artifacts. However, it’s the pottery that reveals the culture of early Nicaragua, as it’s decorated with intricately painted mythical
figures, animals and people in the traditional clothing of the time. Following your tour of the museum, you will transfer directly back to the pier.
Please note: This tour includes approximately 2-hours of moderate walking, plus any additional walking at the guests’ discretion during free time. There are

country’s second largest city. Founded by Spanish conquistadors on the edge of Lake Managua in 1524, Leon was heavily damaged in an earthquake and

One of the city’s most striking features is its colonial architecture, which imbues Leon with an Old World ambiance. You’ll experience its charm firsthand by

Cathedral, whose construction began in 1747.

PNT-009 ECO MANGROVE RIVER CRUISE
Duration: 5.00 Hrs
Tour Price: $155.00
Date: July 01, 2015 12:30 PM
Experience the natural beauty of the Guacalillo estuary and Tarcoles River on this leisurely river cruise that focuses on the wonderful ecology of this region.
Your adventure takes place on Costa Rica's Pacific Coast, along the Guacalillo estuary and the Tarcoles River, located near Carara National Park. The
Guacalillo estuary is noted for its mangrove forests. In fact, four different species of mangrove are found in this area: Tea, black, red and white mangrove.
The mangroves are a group of unrelated woody plants that grow in protected tropical coasts and provide a great habitat for many endemic birds like the
Cuckoo, Hummingbirds, Vireo, Panama Flycatcher and many herons and egrets.
The mangrove forest you will visit is one of the most important in the mid-Pacific Coast for the conservation of the Scarlet Macaw. While this endangered bird
species spends most of the day in the forest, they roost in the mangroves. The area is also home to 250 species of birds, crocodiles, mammals and insects.
In fact, the Tarcoles River mouth is considered by birdwatchers to be one of the richest sites for sea birds and shorebirds, specifically during the migration
from October through April. Ospreys, Gulls, Cormorants, Pelicans and Frigate birds are some of the most common species found in the delta.
The shores of the Tarcoles River house one of the largest colonies of crocodiles and there is little doubt you will spot some during your tour! Some of these
reptiles are easily three meters long. Iguanas, Jesus Christ lizards as well as herons, egrets, ducks, spoon bills and storks are easily seen looking for food
along the shore.
As your tour returns to the pier, you will come away having gained a great understanding of the life of the mangrove and its species. More importantly, you
will learn about their existence and why we must preserve the mangrove forests as a way of conservation to save all living species on Earth.
Please note: This tour consists of very limited walking and is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair and are accompanied by a
companion to assist them. The seats on the tour boat are under cover; however, the boat is open on the sides. Light weight clothing; flat, comfortable walking
shoes; sun caps; sun glasses; sun screen and insect repellent are suggested.

EYW-006 DISCOVER KEY WEST
Duration: 2.50 Hrs
Tour Price: $115.00
Date: July 07, 2015 11:30 AM
This delightful tour allows you to discover Key West in three unique ways: on a colorful and entertaining tour of the island aboard a Conch Tour Train or an
Old Town Trolley; through a close-up encounter with local marine life at the Key West Aquarium; and on a journey back in time to the 1800s to the days of
shipwrecking at the Shipwreck Treasure Museum.
You will begin your Key West discovery with a fully narrated one hour tour of the island. Riding in comfort, cooled by island breezes, you will get a true feel of
this unique island - the color, the history and the atmosphere, all while viewing its most important landmarks. Along the way, your friendly conductor will point
out unique details and special places you might otherwise miss, such as Hemingway House, the Southernmost Point of the Continental U.S., President
Truman's Little White House, the Henry Flagler Railroad Historian and many, many more sights that characterize the charm and distinctive appeal of Key
West.
Following your panoramic tour, you'll enjoy a short walk to the Aquarium. Located in the corner of Mallory Square, the Aquarium is Key West's oldest
tourist attraction, dating back to February 18, 1935. You will quickly find it is home to hundreds of different species of local marine life and includes a touch
tank where visitors of all ages are encouraged to enjoy a hand's on experience with several species of sea life. The Aquarium is also the habitat of a wide
variety of fish - including grouper, moray eels, barracuda, tropical fish, tarpon, sharks and parrotfish. During your tour, you will even be given the opportunity
to pet a shark. When you reach the Atlantic Shore exhibit with its unique perspective on the mangroves, their inhabitants and this fascinating multifaceted
ecosystem, you will have reached the environmental highlight of the attraction.
Your last stop before your tour concludes will be at The Shipwreck Treasure Museum which was opened in June 1994, as a re-creation of the 1856 wreckers'
warehouse. Inside, you'll see a video presentation depicting how Key West once became the wealthiest city in America. This nautical museum serves as a
backdrop for artifacts from the Issac Allerton, which sank in 1856. You won't want to miss the spectacular view from the lateen tower, or wreckers' look-out.
Rising 65 feet above street level, the look-out provides a great vantage point from which to photograph your ship.
Please note: This tour includes a limited amount of walking on paved surfaces and is available to wheelchair guests. Those with mobility concerns are
cautioned to evaluate their personal level of ability and stamina. There may be some steps to negotiate at the Aquarium and Shipwreck Museum and those

EYW-007 PRESIDENT TRUMAN'S KEY WEST
Duration: 2.00 Hrs
Tour Price: $105.00
Date: July 07, 2015 11:30 AM
This relaxing tour gives you a great overview of Key West along with highlighting some of its most well-known historical landmarks. From the pier, it's a short
walk to your tour vehicle, either an Old Town Trolley or the World Famous Conch Tour Train.
Riding in comfort, cooled by island breezes, you'll be taken back to the days before civilization when fierce Indians left their enemy's bones to bleach in a
tropical wilderness, naming the island Bone Key. As you explore what is now a lush, tropical paradise, you'll discover the charm and grace of one of
America's most unique architectural pleasures. Along the way, you'll get to know characters like John James Audubon, Ernest Hemingway and Harry S.
Truman and just as they did, become captivated by the magic that is Key West. While your tour meanders its way through old town with its blend of tropical
plants and flowers, you will pass by Historic Seaport, Southernmost Point, cigar maker's shot-gun houses, wrecker's mansions, unique churches and learn
about the island's multi-cultural heritage. Along the way, you'll hear about Key West's unique role in the Civil War and Henry Flagler's dream - and how it
came true. Picture in your mind how Key West would have looked just after the turn of the century as you arrived on a train that you had boarded in New
York, making one final stop before heading onward to Havana.
From bold Spanish explorers and brave Wreckers, to the great cigar barons and sponge magnates, you'll be transported from the golden age of settlement
through the exciting days of the railroad, the depression, World War II, and on past the Kennedy days into the present. This well researched and fact-filled
tour truly shows and tells you all there is to know about this sub-tropical island paradise.
Next, you'll follow your guide approximately 3 blocks to President Harry S. Truman's Little White House, the only Presidential Museum in Florida. The Harry
S. Truman Little White House in Key West was built in 1890 as the first officers' quarters on what was then the naval station. The wooden duplex contained
Quarters A for the Base Commandant and Quarters B for the Paymaster. Built on the waterfront of the harbor of Key West, it was in the beginning of the 20th
century that the home was converted into a single family dwelling to house the Commandant.
Over the years, the house has been host to many distinguished guests. Thomas Edison resided in the house during World War I, while working on depth
charge research for the U.S. Navy. President Harry Truman began visiting the island for rest and relaxation. President Dwight Eisenhower used the home
while recuperating from a heart attack in 1956.
Following a rich history of hosting dignitaries, Former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell opened peace talks between the representatives of Armenia and
Azerbaijan and in January of 2005, President Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Clinton also enjoyed a tropical respite.
After your tour of this marvelous historical site, you are free to return to the ship or continue to explore Key West on your own.
Please note: This tour includes a limited amount of walking on paved surfaces and is available to wheelchair guests. Those with mobility concerns are
cautioned to evaluate their personal level of ability and stamina. There are some steps to negotiate at the Harry S. Truman Little White House and those
wishing to visit the upper floors of the home would need to negotiate approximately 30 stair steps. Comfortable clothing, a hat, sunglasses and flat walking
shoes are recommended.

EYW-012 KEY LIME BIKE TREK
Duration: 3.00 Hrs
Tour Price: $105.00
Date: July 07, 2015 11:30 AM
Casually bicycle through Florida's most carefree, laidback city on a beach cruiser, visiting Key West's most colorful attractions and landmarks.
Walk the short distance from the pier to your beach cruiser and start biking through Key West. The city is entirely flat, so you can easily cruise along without
much effort. You'll see all the key sites, stopping at many of them, and always pedaling at a leisurely pace. Along the way, your guide will impart all sorts of
curious facts and stories about Key West's most infamous characters.
Visit the notorious Captain Tony's Saloon, where Jimmy Buffet played early in his career. See Ernest Hemingway's house, where the Pulitzer Prize-winning
author penned "For Whom the Bell Tolls." Have your picture taken at Mile Marker 0, the southernmost point in the continental United States. Cruise by the
quirky Key West Cemetery and hear about the famous sculptures and unusual epitaphs.
Key West has no shortage of irreverent attractions, but there are also plenty of more traditional ones that are fascinating in their own right. You'll pass the
Presidential Gates, leading to Harry Truman's Little White House, and Mel Fisher's Maritime Heritage Museum, which is filled with booty from a shipwrecked
Spanish galleon. For the ultimate taste of Key West, the tour ends at Kermit's Key Lime Pie Shoppe where you'll get a treat of frozen key lime pie dipped in
chocolate.
After a fun-filled time exploring Key West in a non-traditional manner, you will return your bike and then have the choice of either enjoying some free time in
the city or walking back to the ship.
Please note: This tour includes limited walking, but approximately 2.5 hours of moderate to easy biking over flat terrain. Stops are made approximately
every 5-10 minutes. Participants should be in reasonably good physical condition and know how to ride a bike. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests
or those with mobility concerns. Light-weight, comfortable clothing (avoid wide-legged pants or skirts); sun cap; sunglasses; sunscreen and flat, comfortable
shoes are suggested. The bikes used are 26" and the minimum height to participate is 5 ft.

your 1-hour snorkeling excursion.
You can swim in the sub-tropical waters, and view the diverse and incredible collection of undersea life before settling back on board for complimentary beer,
