Acting Showcase
Class of 2010
Introducing
As the Class of 2010 prepares to enter the
profession many of them have already performed
in a range of professional contexts.
As part of their studies they have been involved in
individual professional engagements, workshops,
collaborations or co-productions with the following
companies and organisations:
National Theatre of Scotland
Citizens Theatre, Glasgow
Òran Mór, Glasgow
Tron Theatre, Glasgow
The Arches Theatre, Glasgow
Ankur Productions, Glasgow
Playwrights’ Studio, Scotland
Glasgay, Glasgow
Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh
Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh
Macrobert, Stirling
Dundee Rep Theatre
Theatre Royal, York
RSC
BBC/Comedy Unit
BBC One/Shed Productions
Channel 4
Scottish Television
Last Autumn they performed Chekhov’s The Seagull,
Howard Barker’s Uncle Vanya and at Christmas the
Academy’s highly regarded family pantomime,
Sleeping Beauty by Alan McHugh.
In April you will be able to see the students in either
Chekhov’s The Seagull at York Theatre Royal;
Chekhov’s Three Sisters or Vassily Sigarev’s Plasticine
at the Citizens Theatre, Glasgow and in May in Mikhail
Bulgakov’s Black Snow.
Two members of the Class, Scott Fletcher and
Tony McGeever do not feature in this year’s Audition
Showcase as they are currently engaged in
professional work. Scott Fletcher is working with Birds
of Paradise until mid-March. Tony McGeever is
performing in David Greig’s Dunsinane at the RSC.
For details of all forthcoming productions and any
further information on the students or the BAACT
Programme, please come and talk to me after the
Showcase, or visit our website www.rsamd.ac.uk.
Should you wish to contact any of the students please
phone the mobile numbers provided or contact Kate
Wood on 0141 270 8266.
I hope you find today’s showing useful and we look
forward to talking to you.
