Farella 2011 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon ~ Napa Valley
Farella Vineyards has been growing premium grapes in Coombsville since the 1970’s. Tom
Farella has an impressive list of long-standing clients (Realm, Far Niente, Pahlmeyer, Zeitgeist,
Keenan, Relic, Lail). Tom and Winemaker Massimo DiCostanzo (Assistant Winemaker at
Harlan and more recently, Screaming Eagle) work closely to showcase the exceptional terroir
of Coombsville and do it very well. Their wines are simply outstanding.
VINEYARD: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Farella Estate vineyard in the
heart of the new Coombsville - Napa Valley AVA. The fruit is from Old Vine, Rockpile and
T-Bud blocks, positioned on a steep slope facing due west. For the
moderate temperatures of Coombsville, the exposure to the late afternoon sun, is key to the
inherent richness and slow development of color and tannin..
TASTING NOTES: Rich, robust mouthfeel with ample yet soft tannins. Aromas and flavors
of calamata olives, strawberry/cassis fruit, blackberry, deep, smoky spice and a hint of licorice.
Long, supple finish for a wine of this structure. 275 cases

Y. Rousseau Wines is the realization of a dream that began long ago in

Tannat’s roots reach through the same French countryside as Yannick’s.
As one of the Southwest of France’s hallmark red beauties, it hails from
the Madiran region near the Pyrénées mountains. Tannat makes decidedly
robust wines, with pronounced aromas of smoke and plum, significant tannins and a wonderfully spicy finish.
TASTING NOTES: This wine allures with deep purple to black hues. An enticing, complex nose develops into quite
expressive aromas of black cherry, blueberry pie, cassis, licorice and violet. Vibrant red fruit & blackberry flavors burst in
the mouth with notes of tar and over-baked cherry Clafoutis. This wine is juicy, bold and generously rich. Think Hanger
steak, Boeuf Bourguignon, Game and chocolate dessert. Production: 809 cases
