The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy
and baby health. Each year in Nebraska, 1 out of 9 babies is born
premature. The March of Dimes spends 76 percent of the money raised
in March for Babies on research and programs that support:
• All-important research offering prevention and solutions for babies
born too soon or with birth defects
• Educate women on how they can increase their chances of having a
healthy baby
• Push for newborn screening, and health insurance for all pregnant
women and children

MARCH OF DIMES GUILD BOARD AND GIGI’S CUPCAKES PARTNER TO HONOR
ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONALS’ DAY AND OMAHA BABIES
Omaha, Ne (April 8, 2014) — A group of local women is working on behalf of the March of Dimes
Nebraska Chapter with Gigi’s Cupcakes to give Omaha babies a healthy start in life.
The March of Dimes Guild started in June of 2013 to support its Nebraska chapter and 2014 will
be the Guild’s first full year of activity. The volunteer organization’s purpose is to be ambassadors for the
March of Dimes by promoting the advancement and growth of the charity through its fundraisers,
educational programs and awards ceremonies.
To assist with the March of Dimes primary fundraiser, March for Babies, the Guild has partnered
with Gigi’s Cupcakes. The Guild has organized a fundraiser selling Gigi’s Cupcakes products for
Administrative Professionals’ Day on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, with proceeds benefitting Omaha March
for Babies. “The March of Dimes Guild is excited to be raising money with Gigi’s Cupcakes for our March
for Babies Event on April 26th, to the improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects,
premature birth, and infant mortality.” Jeannie Dudzinski, March of Dimes Guild President.
SuZanne Rogers, owner of Gigi’s Cupcakes’ Omaha location said, “We are honored to bake and
create to promote healthy babies through the March of Dimes. This project is a full circle of giving, and
that is what my family and my business care about.” A variety of limited-edition sweet treats like the
March of Dimes Cupcake, Caramel Sugar Mama Cupcake and stuffed cookies can be pre-ordered by April
18 in time for Administrative Professionals’ Day and the Guild can deliver orders to businesses or products
can be picked up at Gigi’s Cupcakes, located at 168th and Dodge, Village Pointe South. Orders can be
placed at the Gigi’s Cupcakes location, by calling the store at (402) 991-9010, online at

March for Babies will be held in Omaha on Saturday, April 26, 2014. It’s a family-friendly event
where the community comes together to raise money to support research, services, education and
advocacy in the fight against prematurity, birth defects and infant mortality. Interested walkers and
