transporting at least a dozen people
from rooftops during the flooding of
the Lycoming and Loyalsock creeks.
After being caught in a rip current off
the beach, Nicholas kept himself and
two others from drowning until
rescue teams arrived.

Edged his way down a steep incline
to rescue a boy who had fallen 70
feet from a bridge, performed CPR
