SeismicRecordingStation TA_D63A SummaryReport ThankyouforhostingstationTA_D63Aonyour property.Wehopethatyoufindtheenclosed reportinteresting. Yourstationisoneofthe2000USArrayseismic stationsbeinginstalledaspartoftheNational ScienceFoundation'sEarthScopeinitiative. Researchscientistsareanalyzingthedatathat wasrecordedatyourstationtolearnhow earthquakesareinitiatedandtogainabetter understandingofourdeepearth'sdynamic structureandprocesses. Thisstationdetected121regionalearthquakes and1372distantearthquakes(occurringover 10degreesor1100kmfromthestation).The magnitudesoftheseearthquakesrangedfrom verysmall(magnitude<2.0)whicharenotfelt byhumansanywhere,tolargeeventswhichcan resultinsignificantdestruction.(Onthefollowing pages,wepresentasummaryreportofthedata weobtainedfromthisstation.) Weinviteyoutocontinuefollowingtheprogress ofUSArraybyvisitingtheUSArraywebpagesat http://earthscope.org/observatories/usarrayand http://usarray.org Onceagain,thescientificcommunityisgrateful foryourwillingnesstoparticipateinthis researchinitiativeandthankyouforcontributing tothesuccessofEarthScopeandtheUSArray project.
