Indigenous cultures
The name Embera means "people". Collectively they are known as the Chocó and belong to two
major groups: the Embirá, of upper Atrato and San Juan rivers, and the Wuanana of the lower
San Juan River. The tribe has appeared on screen in at least two Hollywood films. The first
appearance was in Roland Joffé's The Mission, in which they portrayed the Guarani living in the
Iguazu Falls region of Argentina during the Guaraní War in the 18th century. Later they
portrayed the Taíno and Carib in Ridley Scott's 1492: Conquest of Paradise.

Walking through History
To facilitate the flow of gold from the Pacific to Spain, the Spanish conquistadores founded
the town of Panama in 1519. After the original town was ransacked by the notorious pirate
Henry Moore in 1617, the Spanish relocated to the more easily defended peninsula and
founded Casco Viejo. The historical record is unclear, but La Isabela was built in
approximately 1857. Our not-your-typical-guide (UNESCO certified) will bring you to an
exclusive-non-typical tour. You will walk the Secret Casco to know the History and the
Stories of this magical placed declared World Heritage Site in 1997, and will finish in our
famous Fish Market to get your fresh Panamanian ceviche. Like a true local!

Controversial. Revolutionary. Amazing
It has been called the 8th Wonder of the World….and with good reason!
…
The story of the building of the Panama Canal is one of power, personality, technology, political deception and the
tragic death of thousands. It stands as a monument to mankind's ingenuity and power of conviction that changed
the political and physical geography of the planet.
Finished in 1914, It took 250,000 people from all corners of the globe, the death of more than 25,000, and
more than 10 years to build. The Canal is a 40-mile chain of deep channels, thousand-foot long locks and manmade lakes stretching over the Continental Divide from ocean to ocean.
And in the last 102 years, it has not stopped working a single day.
Visiting the Panama Canal is a unique experience which can't be reproduced anywhere else in the world.
See 50,000 tons’ ships rise and drop more than 50 feet as they make their way through Panama
from one ocean to another, and learn about the history and future of this marvel of modern engineering.
