We’re all looking forward to the School Garden Party at the end of term. Road Safety – Driving? If our Lollipop Lady, Katie, is in the road helping children cross, please make sure you stop no matter which direction you are coming from. Katie will indicate when it is safe for cars to pass. Please do not try to sneak round Katie. You risk hurting someone. Mrs Allen has asked Katie to report any cars not helping us stay safe. We will then need to pass this on to our Community Police Team. On behalf of the School Council, Mrs Allen presented the Kenya Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (KSPCA) with £50 and a plaque from the school. This money will go towards supporting the charity to care for a range of animals from cats, dogs, donkeys and horses to monkeys and pigs. The plaque is now on one of the puppy pens. Mrs Allen told the children all about it in assembly this week. Mrs Allen showed the children video of the KSPCA staff thanking them for their donation and telling them about their work. The children were really saddened to hear about the painted donkeys. The School Council are thinking about how else they might be able to help this worthwhile charity. Look out for a stall at the May Fair. Our very own Master Chef came in to give Year 6 their first Master Chef tutorial on omelette making. Food hygiene and safety were also discussed as the children tucked into ham and cheese omelette. Tundani is soon to join Ishaq-B down in Tsavo where he will learn how to be an elephant in the wild. Miss Waters has fostered Ndotto and this is Kamok who is also looking to be fostered. Wouldn’t it be fabulous if we could foster a herd? Go to www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org to find out how you can foster an elephant. Let Mrs Allen know the name of your elephant – we’ve set ourselves a ‘Have You Herd?’ Moonshot target to foster a Bolnore Herd of Elephants. Join in and foster! You can make such a difference with just £35. Thank you. Have you heard? WSCC are recycling pots, tubs and trays now… It was great to hear about targets and progress now. Looking forward to the Celebration Report! – Year 3 Parent Something strange: Only one mammal can’t jump — the elephant.
