The Retirement Villages Amendment
Bill passed through the Legislative
Council this afternoon .
(Tuesday 1/11/2016)
The main amendments passed in the
bill are:
1.The 18 month statutory
repayment period remains for all
categories, however should a unit
remain unsold for a period greater than
9 months, then the resident or executor
of a deceased estate may engage their
own real estate agent to take over the
marketing.
2. The 5 year review period of the
operation of the 18 month statutory
repayment period will now be three
years and will be opened up to consider
the workings of all facets of the Act.

3. The government indicated that
greater consultation was needed before
they would cover the capital items
loophole in the Act. However Family
First and the Greens believed it should
have been included in the bill. Both of
these parties plus the Liberals and John
Darley put the Government on notice
that they will expect this issue to be
resolved one way or the other at the 3
year review.

that is evil and nearly all that is undetected in
this great city. He is a genius, a philosopher,
an abstract thinker. He has a brain of the first
order.”
“Come, Watson, come! The game is afoot.
Not a word! Into your clothes and come! We

to find the missing answers to those twenty
questions and I am pleased to report that
one team has correctly deciphered sixteen
answers, thus proving themselves worthy
on this occasion. Nevertheless Watson, the
cleverness of Moriarty has enabled him to
conceal 4 remaining answers from detection.
Fear not Watson, the chase is by no means
over! Let me introduce you to our victorious

ROGER PITT.
On The Lighter Side
Only an Aussie could pull this one off!
It’s a true story from Mount Isa in Queensland.
Recently a routine Police patrol car parked outside
a local neighbourhood pub late in the evening. The
Officer noticed a man (Luke Sandery) leaving the
bar so intoxicated that he could barely walk.
The man stumbled around the car park for a few
minutes with the officer quietly observing. After
what seemed an eternity and trying his keys on five
vehicles the man managed to find his car, which he
fell into. He was there for a few minutes as a number
of other patrons left the bar and drove off. Finally
he started his car, switched the wipers on and off
(it was a fine dry night) then flicked the indicators
on and off, tooted the horn and switch on the lights.
pulled the man over and carried out a breathalyser
test. To his amazement the breathalyser indicated
no evidence of the man’s intoxication.
The Police Office said “I’ll have to ask you to
accompany me to the Police Station – this
breathalyser equipment must be broken.”
“I doubt it,” said the man, “tonight I’m the designated
decoy”.
He moved the vehicle forward a few metres,
reversed a little and then remained stationary for
a few more minutes as some more vehicles left. At
last he pulled out of the car park and started to drive
slowly down the road.
Having patiently waited all this time the Police Officer
started up the patrol car, put on the flashing lights,

expos over a full 12 month period and finally
decided the Ashbrook offered the best option for a

Presentation on Parkinson’s Disease
On 30 September, Ms Anne Heard, Program Organiser from Parkinson’s South
Australia Group, gave a comprehensive and entertaining talk to 30 people,
covering the symptoms and management of Parkinson’s Disease.
Topics covered included the main symptoms, the non motor symptoms, the
early signs that point to the possibility that a person could be suffering from
Parkinson’s, how the disease is diagnosed, and ways to manage the illness once
tests are confirmed. Anne also covered the difficulties people with Parkinson’s
have coping with the illness.
It was surprising to hear that 11,500 new cases of Parkinson’s are recorded
each year.
Mr Boris Janic gave a vote of thanks to the speaker, and presented her with a
small gift.
