Lunch and Learn: Networking Lunch and Youth Engagement Workshop
Wednesday, Feb. 22nd, 12:00 – 5:00 pm, Maritime Heritage Centre -Thulin Room
This interactive workshop explores youth engagement models and practices.
Participants will discuss Roger Hart’s Model of Youth Engagement and discuss the
challenges and barriers to involving youth in community work. Participants will
identify and gain tools for engaging youth.
Facilitated by PeerNet BC, providers of training, resources & support to peer-led initiatives across BC.
Price: $40 for VCR member agencies and $60 for non-members.

National Volunteer Week 2017—April 23 to 29
For the third year running, Volunteer CR will be celebrating National
Volunteer Week by partnering with local coffee shops for our Volunteer
Coffee Break! Volunteers will receive a coupon for a free cup of coffee/
tea that can be used during the week of Apr 23-29 in recognition of their
volunteer efforts.
Please order your coupons, 1 per volunteer, by March 1st to be able to
have them printed and ready for pickup for March 15th.

10-2 to sell our Triple B event tickets! Come see us and the many
vendors there while supporting Grassroots Kind Hearts as the featured
non-profit that week!
The CR Indoor Market at the Ironwood Mall has opportunities for
non-profits to have a free table to sell items that are not in conflict with
paid vendors at any and all Saturdays, and one non-profit per Saturday
will be featured and be the recipient of vendor donations for

Greenways Land Trust: Our Annual General Meeting will be Wed. March 29th 6 p.m. at the Maritime Heritage
Centre. We will also have a booth at the “Plant Sale, Seedy Sunday & Garden Expo” on Sun. March 19th 11 a.m. to 2
p.m. at the Community Centre. We hope to see you there!
CR First Open Heart Society: The next meeting will be Feb 22nd at 1 p.m. at the Community Centre. Guest
speaker is Pharmacist Candace Soltys from London Drugs. New member always welcome! FMI call Ken at

CR Baha’i Community: Join us every 2nd and 4th Sunday, 10 a.m. at Sybil Andrews Cottage for a spiritual

CR Art Gallery: Join us Feb 17th at 6 p.m. for the opening of the 35th Annual Members’ Exhibition presented by
the Arts Council and the Art Gallery. This years exhibition runs from Feb 17th to Mar 15th and features the work of 80
regional artists.
Museum at CR: We are accepting donations of gently used books for our Annual Used Book Sale on that is
taking place on March 4th and 5th. 250-287-3103.
CR Women’s Resource Centre: A free community lunch is on Feb 20th from 12 to 1 p.m. at 1116 Dogwood St.
This lunch is open to all women and is an opportunity for us all to connect to one another and enjoy a warm meal!

seeking an experienced Executive Director with a proven
background in grant and proposal writing; fundraising;

The ED works 32 hours per week at $25.50/hour
including some evenings and weekends as required.
