Hello. My name is Christie McGuinness, and I am a rising third year student at Brooklyn Law School. I am writing today to ask for your support in my campaign to be the next Vice Chair- Student Bar Association. I am confident that after you get to know me, it will be evident that I am the right person for the job. By way of background, I am the current president of the Student Bar Association at Brooklyn Law School. My draw to the position comes from my personal desire to help students at Brooklyn Law School not only navigate law school, but also navigate this new exciting profession we are entering into. Prior to me becoming president, I was the Social Secretary of the Student Bar Associaton. In that role, I was responsible for planning the Barrister’s Ball at Brooklyn. It was a great night that taught me a lot. I was responsible for not only ensuring that over six hundred students had a good time, but also make sure that the event ran smoothly. I am confident that these skills make me uniquely qualified to be the next Vice Chair of the Student Bar Association. I want to be the next Vice Chair of the Student Bar Association because I want to be a clear voice to law students and more specifically, other Student Bar Associations. I believe that my experience on the Student Bar Association uniquely qualified to speak to the needs of those organizations, and how the ABA can help. I also plan on being an advocate for the ABA to the Student Bar Associations to ensure that all students know all the benefits the ABA can provide us.
