Language Arts: Worked on three letter blends (str, spr, thr, scr, shr) in reading and spelling Read poems and discussed rhythm, rhyme, and stanza Reviewed possessive plurals and how they are different from regular plural nouns Practiced reading and separating compound words Read several poems: “Cats and Kittens”, “Desert Camels”, “A Bat is Not a Bird”, “Beetles”, and “A Little Turtle” 2. Math: Practiced identifying coins and stating their value Counted coin collections Wrote money using both the cent sign and dollar symbols Practiced determining which amount is greater/less than Determined total amounts using money within word problems 3. Science/Social Studies Identified characteristics of reptiles using a checklist Made a snake! Had a special lesson with Mrs. Holzworth (Mrs. Barnes’ intern) about careers and jobs 4. Miscellaneous: Information regarding a class gift exchange came home with the kids. If you have any questions, please let me know.
