The Irish Hospice Foundation is the national
support and development organisation for
hospice care in Ireland. We promote the
hospice philosophy and support the
development of hospice care in Ireland.
All money raised through the ninth National
Nearest-the-Pin Competition will help to
ensure that no one should have to face death
or bereavement without appropriate care and
support for themselves or their families.
Current programmes supported by the
Foundation include: care for people dying in
hospitals, bereavement education and
support, children’s outreach nurses and
night nursing for non-cancer patients.

“
I’m delighted to have been involved with the Irish Hospice
Foundation’s National Nearest-the-Pin Competition
over the past 8 years. Thanks to golf clubs
and societies around Ireland an
impressive amount has been raised
for the development of hospice
services. I have experience
firsthand the tremendous
benefits hospice care can
bring through my brother
who was looked after with
such care, compassion and
respect. I would encourage
clubs to do all they can to
support this year’s
competition.
