She confirmed there would be no photos and all had only heard positive feedback and how it promoted the community. It discusses what is happening and what will be happening and is most effective when it has a twitter tag which takes us to a useful website. Adrienne is happy to continue updating the page and is open to suggestions. KL informed everyone that the governing body is looking for a governor so can they spread the word. A retired person could be preferable who are less restricted with their time. KL updated everyone that no action can be taken until the flat is checked for asbestos. Actions Arising, Responsibility for action and date for completion All class reps to let Adrienne know if they hear positive or negative feedback and to communicate with her. Adrienne will put on a poll to see what time of the weekend suits parents to help with the outdoor learning project. All present will spread the word. Action – To wait for the asbestos findings before this is discussed further. 4) Clubs update 5) Developing the Outdoor Learning Environments – Working Group (Update from Julie Wilson) The SLT and Governors are discussing the future development of the building as we speak to best accommodate the whole school’s needs. Possible ideas are to use the flat as an extra large space that is much needed, a library, staffroom and offices but no ideas have been finalised. Discussion about where library can go. KL asked all present to keep this confidential as no ideas are concrete at the moment. JL is in discussion with a Spanish club and will confirm when this can start, when she knows more. Julie fed back all the wonderful work the parents and teachers have been doing over the last few weeks. The stone collage collection has been a real hit. We discussed having a padlock on the shed or main back gate as there is now nobody living in the flat to keep it secure. We discussed Johnsons Wax’s offer and KL is in the process of sending off the form once she has a quote for a few items. 6) Parent Clinic KL explained what these JL to finalise a starting date, day and time for the club to begin. OL committee will meet in April to see where we are at and plan for the summer term, especially where some of the ideas will actually go in the grounds. Julie will put a list of what needs doing up in the shed for any parent helpers. JL to confirm whether parents can come in to the school grounds during school hours and/or during holidays to help. Julie will then inform the parents about when they can help via Facebook. KL will ask teachers to advertise this in classroom windows and JL to put it in the newsletter. 18.4.16 – info share 7) Feedback re Grandparents and Mother’s day mornings Suggestions from parent Community… meetings will be for as written in the last newsletter. Very positive feedback JL to discuss with PTA from Grandparents. the presents for next Ideas for the future:year. Less time in the classrooms so the morning is shortened. This year the PTA didn’t provide them with a small gift. Explanation of what will happen on the day when the grandparents enter school. Mother’s day – Mums love it. Only a few parents who work full time felt the pressure and if any parents have to leave early due to work it can be hard. We all agreed this is so hard to accommodate – the dates are given really early in the year. It was confirmed that the children had 4 choices of presents for Mothers day. JL/KL to take on board and feedback at the next parent forum. School uniform – what school shoes are allowed? Can we remind parents in a newsletter? And a reminder about nail varnish please. P.E Year 2 – Can Year 2 inform parents of what P.E they are doing on a Friday? KL explained that the learning letter goes out at the beginning of a term and staff will be more explicit about the P.E in this. Can there be an update on the golden clubs in a newsletter? Safeguarding – Parents much happier and to just check that Jamie is on the gate. Laura reminded all that it is parents’ responsibility. Football 8 parents in Year 2 would like football before school to stop. Lunchtime football has also caused a few stresses for some children. KL said staff have already addressed issues and that the staff would brainstorm this and maybe ask the school council/ children involved to suggest solutions. Fruit/Veg KL confirmed that there is a wide variety of free fruit/veg provided for the children and will check this is rotated adequately. Mathletics was discussed. KL will find out where we are with Shay Lynch the ICT coordinator. Animation figures The small toy figures that children brought in to school and lost was discussed. KL said the school will reimburse and that next time we will stress that they do not bring in expensive or precious toys to school when asked.
