Biography of Dr. Craig College, winner of LDAA Golden Jubilee Distinguished Alumnus Award for
Leadership
Craig College, valedictorian of the Class of 1974, continued his education by enrolling in the United
States Military Academy at West Point and then receiving a Master’s and PhD in Economics at Stanford
University. He has consistently exhibited his leadership skills in the Department of Defense at the
Pentagon and also in the classroom and in the field. He was chosen for the Senior Executive Service in
April 1991 and more recently has been serving as the Army’s Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for
Installation Management. He is the principal of an organization that is the single resource provider for
policies, programs and budgets for army installations worldwide to ensure that facilities are available for
personnel from senior mission commanders to soldiers and their families. In recognition of his
distinguished career in service to the Department of the Army, Craig has been given numerous awards
and honors, including several Presidental Rank Awards and Meritorious Service Awards. He has
certainly attained his life goal, as stated in the 1974 yearbook, “to become successful in a profession”.
