The Yemin Orde Family Remembers
Elie Wiesel, A Great and Inspiring
Friend In 2008, Yemin Orde Youth Village hosted Elie Wiesel and
his wife, Marion, at the dedication ceremony of the Marion
and Elie Wiesel Children's Home. Elie Wiesel addressed Yemin Orde's at­risk youth, many
who suffered childhood traumas, and spoke about the
importance of forgiveness and compassion. "Make your
lives a work of generosity," he said. Today, approximately
25 at­risk children from around the world live in the home ­
for many it is their only home in Israel. Read Chaim

The 2016 graduating class of Yemin Orde High School
received their diplomas on Monday, June 20 in front of
hundreds of family members, educators, friends and
special guests. This year's theme, “Journeys of
Enlightenment,” reflected the immigration experiences of
the students, most of whom are first generation Israelis.

Friends of Yemin Orde has received a two­year, $172,000
challenge grant from a private foundation that wishes to
remain anonymous. The grant will match dollar for dollar,
up to a maximum of $21,500 per donor, per year, all new
and increased gifts to Friends of Yemin Orde. Read more.
Education Trailblazers to Set New Path
for Learning
In cooperation with Tel Aviv University's Continuing
Education Unit, educators from our partnering educational
communities recently completed an intensive training
program, which provides bi­monthly active learning
sessions on Village Way theory and practical applications.
The Education Trailblazers will serve as leaders in the

Programs Are Prepared for Road Ahead
Graduates of Yemin Orde’s gap year leadership programs
for young immigrant men and women took an important
step toward future success in Israel's military service
when they recently completed this important and

Highest Rating for the 10th Year
For the tenth year, Friends of Yemin Orde has received an
exemplary Four Star Rating from Charity Navigator, the
top independent charity evaluator in the United States.
This distinction indicates that Friends of Yemin Orde
outperforms most other charities in the U.S. for sound
fiscal management and commitment to accountability and
