Per each browser, you will need to take various steps prior to using myPatientAccess. This guide will provide you with step by step instructions on how to configure each browser properly. You must adjust these settings for each user (person) logging into the computer, since they may not carry over to different user profiles. Note: Walkthroughs for Windows and OS X will be depicted using Windows 10 and El Capitan versions, respectively. Accessing myPatientAccess on Windows Using Internet Explorer In order to access myPatientAccess using Internet Explorer, you will first need to navigate to and open the browser. To access the browser (if you do not already have a shortcut to it), click on the Start button and start typing ‘Internet Explorer’ to search for and select the application. Nightingale – myPatientAccess – Getting Started Page 3 of 17 Last Updated June 2016 Turning off Pop-up Blocker You must ensure that Pop-ups are allowed to appear before logging on to the myPatientAccess program. To do this, you must ensure that the Pop-up Blocker option is turned off. To turn off the pop-up blockers feature, click on the Tools menu. Once the tools menu opens, select Pop-up Blocker and then select the option ‘Turn off Pop-up Blocker’. If the option ‘Turn on Pop-up Blocker’ displays, pop-up blockers are already turned off. Removing myPatientAccess from Compatibility View Settings If added to the list of websites in Compatibility View, myPatientAccess will not function properly. In order to remove it from this list, or to ensure that is not listed, you will need to navigate to the ‘Compatibility View settings’ menu. From within Internet Explorer click on the gear icon ( View settings’. Nightingale – myPatientAccess – Getting Started ) in the top right corner, then select ‘Compatibility Page 4 of 17 Last Updated June 2016 With the menu open, ensure that the myPatientAccess URL is NOT listed under ‘Websites you’ve added to Compatibility View’. If it is, simply select the URL and click the ‘Remove’ button. Also from within this menu, ensure that the checkboxes labeled ‘Display intranet sites in Compatibility View’ and ‘Use Microsoft compatibility lists’ are both unchecked. Click the ‘Close’ button, and close all browser windows before re-opening to use myPatientAccess. Clearing your cache Prior to using myPatientAccess, it is encouraged that you clear your browser’s cache. In order to do so, you will need to navigate to the ‘Internet Options’ menu. From here, ensure that the checkboxes labeled ’Temporary Internet files and website files’ and ‘Cookies and website data’ are checked. Click ‘Delete’ and ‘OK’ to delete these portions of data from your browser, effectively clearing your cache. Note: If any future issues are encountered when accessing myPatientAccess, clearing your cache may be used as a remedial measure before taking further action. Using Google Chrome In order to access myPatientAccess using Google Chrome, you will need to navigate to and open the browser. To access the browser (if you do not already have a shortcut to it), click on the Start button and start typing ‘Google Chrome’ to search for and select the application (see ‘Using Internet Explorer’ for a visual walkthrough). In order to do so, you will need to navigate to the ‘Settings’ menu. From the dropdown labeled ‘Obliterate the following items from:’, ensure that ‘the beginning of time’ is selected. Check the boxes labeled ‘Cookies and other site and plugin data’ and ‘Cached images and files’, then click ‘Clear browsing data’. This will delete these portions of data from your browser, effectively clearing your cache. Note: If any future issues are encountered when accessing myPatientAccess, clearing your cache may be used as a remedial measure before taking further action. Using Mozilla Firefox In order to access myPatientAccess using Mozilla Firefox, you will need to navigate to and open the browser. To access the browser (if you do not already have a shortcut to it), click on the Start button and start typing ‘Mozilla Firefox’ to search for and select the application (see ‘Using Internet Explorer’ for a visual walkthrough). From the ‘Advanced’ tab within the menu, click the ‘Network’ tab. Under the ‘Cached Web Content’ section, click the ‘Clear Now’ button to effectively clear your browser’s cache. Accessing myPatientAccess on OS X Using Safari In order to access myPatientAccess using Safari, you will first need to navigate to and open the browser. To access the browser (if it is not currently visible on the Dock), click on the Spotlight Search button ( it. ) located at the right of the menu bar. With the search bar displayed, begin to type ‘safari’ into Doing so will result in the Safari application to be displayed as one of the ‘Top Hits’. Select the application and the browser will open. In order to do so, you will need to navigate to the ‘Preferences…’ menu. With Safari open, click on the ‘Safari’ label in the menu bar, then select ‘Preferences…’. From the ‘Privacy’ tab within the menu, click the ‘Remove All Website Data…’ button.
