Our establishment blends almost 150 years of glorious tradition with the charisma of
contemporary hospitality. The founders‘ names are legendary: César Ritz, famous around the world
as a synonym for premier hospitality, and Auguste Escoffier, the founder of Grande Cuisine.
The fascinating architecture of the GRAND HOTEL NATIONAL calls to mind French châteaux of the
17th and 18th centuries and palaces of the Italian Renaissance; inside, it forges a splendid
combination with contemporary design and urban flair. This thrilling interplay is apparent in our
ball rooms, which offer a wonderfully comfortable setting for your celebration in Lucerne.
A unique location. Our Grand Hotel is situated at the heart of Lucerne, the famous city of lights,
and on the very shores of Lake Lucerne. Feast your eyes on one of the most wonderful landscapes
in Switzerland, fall under the spell of the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and
take a stroll along the lake on the broad promenade! The KKL culture and congress centre, the
picturesque old town of Lucerne, the shopping district and the station can all be reached on foot
within minutes, while Zurich International Airport is only 45 minutes away.

Venues
A total of seven rooms provide an elegant setting for between 8 and 230 conference-goers.
For events for up to 30 participants, you can choose one of the five stylish business rooms:
“Harlekin“, “Marmara“, “Atlantik“, “Pazifik“ and “Méditerranée“. For larger occasions, the magnificent
“Ritz“ and “Escoffier“ rooms can be reserved individually or together, offering the ideal setting for
up to 230 visitors.
It is a matter of course that we provide an innovative work environment combined with top-quality
conference technology. At the Grand Hotel National, the professionalism of the staff and the magnificent view over the lake offer a unique blend of business and pleasure.

Ritz and Escoffier Ball Rooms
AVAILABLE SEPARATELY OR TOGETHER FOR UP TO 230 PARTICIPANTS
The rooms can be combined by means of four connecting doors. This offers seminar seating for
up to 140 people. Boasting a magnificent view over Lake Lucerne, your event will leave absolutely
nothing to be desired.
With theatre seating, meetings can be organised in the Ritz room for up to 150 guests or for 130
participants in the Escoffier room. For a stylish stand-up reception, combining these two rooms
offers space for some 650 guests.

RESTAURANT NATIONAL

LAKE TERRACE
Our Lake Terrace is a veritable oasis for the soul, eyes and palate. Sitting right beside the promenade along the shores of Lake Lucerne with the historic façades behind it and a magnificent view
over the lake and mountains in front, this truly is the place to be. The Lake Terrace is the perfect
venue for an aperitif before your dinner.
NATIONAL BAR
The National Bar has retained the original style of the 1870s and exudes the engaging charm of
the turn of the century. People say it‘s the loveliest bar in town. The delightful, traditional room
provides a festive and dignified setting for any cocktail event.

General Information
ARRIVAL
Arriving via the A2 motorway:
Take the „Luzern Zentrum“ exit and follow the
signs for „Bahnhof“ (railway station). Then
follow the signs for „Verkehrshaus/Küssnacht“.
Once you cross the Seebrücke bridge over the
lake, the GRAND HOTEL NATIONAL is a further
150 m on your right.
BILLING
So that you can enjoy your special occasion to
the full, we are happy to forward you an
itemised final bill together with a paying-in slip.
Arriving by train:
Leave the station and take bus No. 6 or 8
marked „Verkehrshaus Würzenbach“. Alight at
the „Luzernerhof“ stop. The main entrance of
the hotel is then just two minutes‘ walk. Alternatively, the walk from the station to the hotel
takes around 10 minutes.
CANCELLATIONS
The reservation is binding once you have signed
it. The cancellation of a reservation is subject to
our general terms and conditions of business.
You may, of course, pay at the end of the
evening if you prefer – in cash or by EC
payment card or credit card.

runs smoothly from the word go by taking
charge of its planning, administering and
running. As an expert in his field, he makes
sure that everything is as it should be.
EXECUTIVE CHEF
Our Executive Chef is celebrated for his
creativity, perfectly handcrafted culinary arts
and preference for high-quality local produce.
He would be only too glad to put together a
personalised menu for you.
EXTENSIONS
Events that end later than 00:30 am incur a
charge of CHF 250.00 per hour or part thereof
for additional staff overheads.
FITNESSPARK NATIONAL
Our guests benefit from special terms at the
5,000 m2 Fitnesspark National, which offers
wellness facilities and a gym including an
oriental pool, an outdoor swimming pool, a
whirlpool/massage pool, a sanarium, a dry
sauna, a fragrance grotto, a eucalyptus steam
bath and a gym area featuring the latest
machines.
MENU CARDS
We offer our standard menu cards at no cost.
We can tailor them to your requirements for
CHF 2.50 per card.
PARKING
Vehicles may not be parked in front of the hotel.
Please make use of the Parkhaus National on
the other side of the road. Since this does
not belong to the hotel, discounts are not
available. The cost is CHF 35.00 per night for
guests staying with us.
PAYMENT IN ADVANCE
On signing the contract, whatever the nature
of the event we reserve the right to request a
down payment of 30% (inland) or 100%
(foreign) of the anticipated final bill.
ROOM RESERVATIONS
Please ask us about putting together a suitable
residency package.
SUPPORTING PROGRAMME
Lucerne and its fascinating environs provide
marvellous opportunities for your event‘s
supporting programme. Ask us – we can
organise everything.
TECHNICAL INFRASTRUCTURE
We offer a wide selection of equipment. Need
something we don‘t have? Ask us about the
cost of procuring other technical items – we
can also organise them for you.
TRANSFERS – FROM LIMOUSINE TO COACH
We are happy to organise your travel arrangements to and from the hotel.
MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT
We can help you find the appropriate entertainment. This service will require you to enter into
a contractual arrangement – thank you for your
understanding.
