Good Morning Blendon! Today is Friday, February 17th, a “B” day on our calendar.
The library Chrome Books will be used 1st, 2nd, and 6th period for research classes. There will not be
any extra for study hall students.
Congratulations to 8th graders Addy Moore and Finn Tan who received a Superior rating at the
District Science Fair over the weekend. This Superior rating allows to the girls to move on to the
regional science fair that will be held later next month. Congrats again and best of luck in the next
round.
Thanks to all of our Blendon dads and special guests who came out for Donuts with Dad this
morning and helped support Student Council and Builders Club’s book drive efforts for Books for
Bedtime! Final deadline to bring in books for students in Pre-K thru grade 12 is Tuesday, February
21st.
Hey everybody! Smile! The Mobile Dentist will be here on March 24, 2017! Signed permission forms
should be returned no later than March 2nd. Permission forms are available in the clinic and on our
school webpage under the Resources tab.
Calling all students with an eye for fashion and a love for the environment. The Trash to Fashion
Competition is open to all students in Westerville City Schools. This contest inspires student
innovation and creativity. Think “Project Runway!” The top two or three designs from each school
will compete in the district competition on Sunday, April 23rd. Check out the website
www.trashtofashion.weebly.com for more details. Entry forms, located online, in the office, or on our
school webpage, should be turned in to Mrs. Lynch in Attendance by February 17th.
It’s not too late to order your YEARBOOK! Cost is $30.00 and deadline to order is March 24th. You
may pay cash or make checks payable to Blendon Middle School.
Recycling will be picked up today from rooms: 241, 243, 245, 248, 249, 250, 251, 340, 344. Please
place your recycling outside your door by second period.
Good morning from Miss Cook’s class! We are doing a fundraiser to help people without clean
drinking water called Charity Water. We are doing a raffle and you can help by joining our raffle. We
will be selling tickets starting on Tuesday during lunch for 25 cents or 5 for $1. This raffle will last from
the 21st and 28th. Our giftcards will be to Chipotle, Starbucks, iTunes, and Subway. If you have any
questions, don’t be afraid to go to Miss Cook. Her room is 322.

Visitors in the Senate galleries burst into applause as senator-elect Hiram Revels, a
Republican from Mississippi, entered the chamber. Those present knew that they were
witnessing an event of great historical significance.
