Unit 3- Sharing the planet
Central idea- We share the planet with many animals and our actions
can affect their survival.

Students were involved in Presenting their research findings on animal habitat and how people and
nature impact their habitat
 Group work- Inquiring about the different types of habitat (Desert, Forest,
Arctic and Water and collected information about their physical description ,
plants and animals found in that region
 Formative assessment on the first line of inquiry
 Videos showing animals getting endangered and students reflecting on the
same.
 Revisited new vocabulary words from the Inquiry
 Writing a creative piece on habitat with the help of given pictures
 Predicting the ending of the story- ‘ Who is stronger and more powerful?’
 Introduced Prepositions - Further understood the usage of prepositions
through group activity
 Introduction to bar graph and frequency table- to read and compare the
collected data followed by practice sheets
 Introduction to multiplication as a repeated addition
 Home Work Math- Practice sheets on bar graph
 Creative writing on- “If you were an animal, how would you react if
humans were taking your land?”
 Spelling Bee
 There will be a spelling challenge on Friday 29nd November 2013
 Words for the week are- deforestation, afforestation, poaching,
natural, calamities , drought, forest, Tsunami, earthquake, Tornadoes
