Red Ribbon Week 2016
Day 1 Monday, October 24th – Huskies pledge to keep their “Hands” off of Drugs and Bullies!
Students wear red and pledge to be Drug and Bully free.
Day 2 Tuesday, October 25th-Huskies have the “Power” to say no to Drugs and Bullies!
What is your Drug and Bully free super power? Students will dress as their favorite super hero
Day 3 Wednesday, October 26th- Huskies will “sock” it to Drugs and Bullies!
Students will wear their favorite crazy socks.
Day 4 Thursday, October 27th Huskies will “Turn” their backs on Drugs and Bullies!
Students wear their clothes backwards to show that they will turn their backs to Drugs and Bullying.
Day 5 Friday, October 28th Student Holiday
*Each day Team Teachers will submit by 10:00 am the number of students on their team that dressed out for
the Red Ribbon festivities. The team with the highest % of participation will be reward a day of getting to sit
wherever they want in their designated area the following school day. Please email Mrs. Douglas with your
counts.
School Wide Activities:
Baby/Young Self-Pictures. Faculty and Staff are encouraged to submit baby or young
self-pictures for bulletin board. The bulletin board (located by cafetartia)will read,
“These Huskies decided long ago to be Drug and Bully free!” Please turn in your picture
to Mrs. Forte or Mrs. Douglas by 10/20 Thursday. We would prefer if you scanned them
and emailed them to us. We can help you scan your picture.
Door Decorating Contest by Team. Each team will be responsible for decorating 4
doors (Juneau’s two doors with count twice) Doors will be judged on 10/21 (Friday)
morning and winner announced on 10/24 (Monday) morning. Winning team will be
awarded a day of getting to sit wherever they want in their designated area at lunch
that Monday and teachers will not have recess duty that day. Doors will be judged
based on creativity, use of theme (You Only Live Once (YOLO)), student created work,
covers the entire door, and completed on time.
Door Decorating Contest by Individual. Faculty and Staff not on a Team can decorate
their door. Doors will be judged on 10/21 (Friday) morning and winner announced on
10/24 (Monday) morning. Doors will be judged based on creativity, use of theme (You
Only Live Once (YOLO)), covers the entire door, and completed on time. Winning
faculty or staff will win a goodie bag from the Counseling Dept.
