Coco-fibre Planting Tips: 1. Do not remove any of the coco pot from the root ball (bottom, sides, or rim), to reduce planting stress on the root system 2. Dig the planting hole wide enough to allow any penetrating roots to be spread outward (not pushed up or down against the edges of the hole). A hole that is twice the diameter of the pot should be sufficient. 3. Dig the planting hole only as deep as the level of the soil media in the coco pot. With the blade of your shovel measure the height of the soil media in the pot, then dig the hole to that same depth. The key here is that the soil level in the pot and the soil level of the ground are the same. 4. Cover the soil media of the pot with a thin layer of soil from the planting hole, to reduce wicking of ground moisture up through the peat-based soil media of the pot. If desired, also cover protruding pot rims, however this is not necessary. Field tests have consistently shown that no upward wicking of ground moisture occurs through coco fibre. 2015
