To Do
Say: The Konnect crew watched some great commercials
and videos today! Tell me which one was your favorite and
what you learned from it.
Choose a few review questions.
1. Why do people make commercials? To make you
think you need to buy something or do something
2. If you have a pure heart, what can some
commercials remind you of? A truth about God
3. How do you think you can you tell if a commercial
or video is going to be bad, scary, or
inappropriate? Scary music, bad words, hurting
others, etc.
4. Do you have to watch every commercial and video
that pops up? No
5. If you choose to watch commercials or videos that
are bad for you or inappropriate, what do you
think it does to your heart? Answers will vary.
Choose an action step question.
1. What can you do when you see a commercial or
video come on that isn’t good to watch? Cover
your eyes, change the channel, or leave the room.
2. When a video or commercial reminds you of God,
who can you share it with? Answers will vary.

1. What will God do for us when we’re tempted?

1. In the Bible story we watched, what did Jesus do
each time the devil tempted Him? He said a truth
from the Bible and refused to do the sin.
2. In the experiment, the water was disgusting by the
end. What do you think that shows us about a
heart full of sin? Answers will vary.
3. If you sin, how can you get pure again? Ask God’s
forgiveness and help to say, “No!” next time.
4. What are some “ways out” God gives us when
we’re tempted? Say Bible verses, ask friends to help,
get rid of things that tempt you, pray, leave, etc.

giving us a way out each time we’re tempted so we can
say, “No!” to sin every time. In Jesus’ name, amen.
4. Each kid says a sin and drops a tablet in the bottle.
Say: Wow. This water is not pure anymore. It’s gross! I
can’t make this water pure again. I can’t make my heart
pure again, either. We need to ask Jesus to make us pure.
5. Pray together, “Jesus, please forgive us for the sins
we’ve done and make our hearts pure.”

1. What does pure mean? Clean, with nothing mixed in
Say: Some things are always true because God talks
about them in the Bible. When you disobey those truths,
it’s always a sin. But some things are between you, your
family, and God because they’re not in the Bible. You
have to ask God what’s best to keep your heart pure. Let’s
play a game to help us figure out the difference!
