Where the Iroquois Live
The Iroqouis lived in the northeastern region
The landform is forests, with trees and bushes
IROQUOIS HOMES
The houses are called longhouses
They used wooden posts, bark, and animal hides to
build the longhouses
Iroquois Food
• The Iroquois ate corn, beans, squash, deer,
moose, beaver, bear, hickory nuts, maple
syrup, hazlenuts, chestnuts, and acorns
• They hunted with deer horns and spears
• The Iroquois are farmers
Iroquois Culture and
Tradition
They had religious ceremonies
The wampum belt is a symbol of the five nations
The five nations are: Seneca, Cayuga, Mohawk,
Oneida, and Onondaga
Iroquois Clothing
Their clothing was made out of: elk and deer
hides,corn husks, and plant and tree fibers
Here are four things that Iroquois wore: leggings,
moccasins, and shirts
Women sometimes wore skirts

Peacemaker and Hiawatha are famous because they
stopped the tribes from fighting about who could farm
and hunt where in the territory

Longhouses could hold up to sixty people
Some Iroquois children played lacrosse
They mostly drank water
