My brothers and sisters in Christ:

My brothers and sisters in Christ:
“This is the day the Lord has made! Let us be glad and rejoice in it!”
This line from Psalm 118 is especially important for us on the celebration of Easter
Sunday. Easter Day is the day that the Lord has made—all of creation made ready from
the beginning of time when the Father would erase the debt of sin through the death and
resurrection of His Son.
Christ opened the gates of heaven for us. His death redeemed us from the powers of
darkness and His resurrection has secured for us a permanent home in His Kingdom. All
we need do is reach out and grasp it.
Today is that day. Realize what is being held out to you and grasp it. And rejoice in it.
Enjoy the flowers, enjoy Spring (since since it seems to have arrive), enjoy the family
gatherings—all are gifts from God who loves us so much that He gave us His Son who
died and rose again for us. Remember the Giver when you enjoy His gifts!
Happy Easter!
Peace and all good things,
Fr. Michael Hay
